For a final season, they're taking their sweet time
alkhawammarie13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was somehow much slower than the last. I feel like the show is losing its identity, the peaky blinders aren't really a gang anymore, nobody is taking a beating or getting killed. Seeing how Tommy had changed in the first episode was quite intriguing and interesting but it's become a bit of a bore now and I'm not too keen on it.

It was great to see Esme again, I'd been wondering if we'd ever see her again after season four and the last episode had answered my question. The storyline with the gypsy curses in quite cool and creepy but I don't know if it's the right direction for Tommy, especially in the final season. Stephen Graham finally showed up and his scene was strange, but actually really helpful for Arthur, maybe that little pep talk is what he needs to really get back on track.

There was a lot of emphasis on Ada this episode which was nice to see but her storyline is a bit up in the air too, she's definitely filling the hole that was left by Aunt Polly but I still feel like this season is suffering massively by her absence. By far the most shocking takeaway from this episode was Ruby's death, I really thought Tommy would find a way to save her and she'd pull through. I'm excited to see how Tommy will be in these next episodes following this, hopefully we'll get the Tommy we know and love back.

Overall this was once again another slow episode, I'm really hoping these last three episodes will be the save and grace for this season because it desperately needs it. Looking forward to next Sunday.

The limitations of Thomas Shelby
snoozejonc11 May 2022
Tommy searches for an alternative cure to Ruby's condition, whilst Ada takes charge of the company in his absence.

This is strong character-driven episode with memorable moments for a number of Shelbys.

Tommy said 'I have no limitations' at the start of this season and in this episode he is portrayed as trying exert his usual influence and control in a desperate situation. This for me is the strongest aspect of the plot thread about Ruby's illness and feels quintessentially how this character would react. How it concludes makes perfect sense for his character arc. Cillian Murphy and Natasha O'Keefe are great in these scenes.

The subplot involving Ada has plenty of strong moments for the character and the best of them are probably the exchanges with Nelson, Mosley and Diana. I'm not sure how many of these scenes were originally intended or might have been reconfigured from Polly's character, but Sophie Rundle does a great job depicting the character asserting herself.

Arthur's trip to Liverpool goes in an unexpected direction for the character. For me it depends what follows as to how significant his exchange with the character Hayden Stagg turns out to be.

As ever the cinematography is strong and the art direction is spot on. The slow motion strutting is cheesy as ever, but if you like that style you will enjoy the Liverpool scenes.

Grass Roots

This episode dives into Tommys gipsy background more then we have seen before, Aidah has taken a strong role while Tommy is away in the business and I think she is quite good at it On the downside of this episode, the first half an hour was a bit of a drag, I do feel as the last season more should be happening and with only 3 episodes ever left i feel like they are seriously lacking and just focusing on how good the episodes look. Arthur is still struggling with addiction and it gets in the way again, I think his character has been wasted.

Damn this season has been depressing
Funkeysnow14 March 2022
The first episode teased the traditional peaky blinders "start-of-new-business". But it's become depressing ever since. It really does feel like the end of Peaky Blinders.

You can tell that Tommy Shelby has reached his breaking point. Everything he's done has been for his family and he's losing them every step of the way. Cillian is acting really well to convey this grief on-screen.

I like Ada's appearance in this season. The show is using her as the only sane and cool-minded person left in the family. Her view of how much her family has fallen is very important to give a 3rd person view of this depression.

This season has been depressing so we'll see how the rest of it pans out. It's boring but it's true to the story.

The ending is just heartbreaking. I'm praying that the show can maintain this quality with the three episodes left to go, I think it will pull through!

Whats the point
aboalhyjaa13 March 2022
I feel like half an episode is more than enough for Rupy storyline, instead they gave her 3 and in the last season! I know what's happened in today's episode are important to give us the last development of Tomey's character, and indeed it has developed but now there's only 3 episodes left, and there's a whole lot of storylines to follow that are more important than Roby's and so little time to deliver!

Still the same show...
aidanb-7911114 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
People are complaining that this show is "losing it's identity", which is a bit over exaggerated. The show isn't getting worse, it's evolving. It's hard to keep it as it was when the show was first set (1919) because this is 14 years from then. The fights in the streets won't happen anymore, times have changed. I love the direction their taking it, however I am a bit worried as we only have 3 episodes left and there are a lot of unanswered questions. Still though, I am faithful in the directors and the writers that they will pull something amazing off as they always have done in the past.

A chronological mistake
AleksandrBelenko14 March 2022
The episode is as good as always. But... At around 11:45 they are talking about Molotov cocktail. The year is 1934.

Even though people had known explosive mixtures for thousands of years, the name "Molotov Cocktail" appeared during Soviet-Finnish war 1939-140. 5 years after the time the season takes place in.

Some goods and bads
zain_ahmed13 March 2022
It's probably just me but peaky blinders appeared to have gone soft in this episode. Nevertheless, great storytelling. Today's episode had more drama than action. Hoping for some action now.

Very moody episode
daniellloyd-6332214 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand the low ratings for this episode. Yes, the episode was a little slower but some of the dialogue is brilliant. The acting is fantastic as always with Aida being the stand out performance for me. Not sure about the seem with Arthur in Liverpool, this storyline could've been much better. I was shocked by the ending which is undoubtedly going to drive Tommy back to drink and violence.

Too much time spent on unnecessary stuff!!
yazanbjok14 March 2022
This gypsy quest stuff was such a waste of time, It would've been accepted if it weren't in the last season.

The arthur in the warehouse with Isiah scene hit the nerf for me, it was just not Arthur, they ruined his character and became a freakin Marshmallow!! The scene was really a waste of time.

Hope it gets better as there are only 3 episodes left...

A very average episode!
richard_kitchen14 March 2022
I love Peaky Blinders, so thrilled it's back. But I can honestly say, out of all 6 seasons, this was by far the most average episode.

It didn't really go anywhere... I'm not particularly enjoyed how little we see Arthur and when we do see him, he isn't the Arthur we knew.

There isn't time for filler episodes in a 6 parter, and it didn't really add much to the story.

Really hope it gets better as I was bored watching this episode unfortunately.

End game story needs to start soon
jamienopt13 March 2022
The episode was well acted but there are too many moving parts at once, with only 3 episodes to go they need to slow it down and focus on a single enticing storyline and maybe bring back some of its grit.

The hope is that it takes a similar rout to the breaking bad finale and there is some sort of dark, satisfying, intelligent, redemption story.

What an episode
braceethan13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Started off fairly slow, but it foreshadowed a dark and incredibly sad ending, further sets up Tommy's character and also Arthur's. A top tier episode and probably the best written episode of Peaky Blinders so far.

beautifully crafted
cainy-9248214 March 2022
This episode is either going to be a favourite or the worst of season 6. The cinematography is incredible, it's an absolutely superb show burn start to finish, that will shift the viewer onto an entirely different style of Peaky Blinders.

I will not give any spoilers away as in my opinion it's one of those in which you just go for it and decide for yourself, but I will give an honest review. I think this is an episode that the final season needed to build a collection of emotions necessary to continue the story. Remember character development is very much needed especially in Peaky Blinders.

I think many people had entirely different expectations of what the final season was going to be like and would've preferred something more similar to season 3. Indeed season 6 has had little violence and has barely reintroduced the likes of Alfie Solomon.

I honestly think this season could still be the best season in the series despite its many flaws, personally I would like to see an extra few episodes as a finale to satisfy its viewers because it seems that too much will be thrown into the last few episodes and I don't think it's a wise decision.

A calm before the storm
grpeaty14 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
According to my humble opinion this episode was a "break" for what it is about to follow throughout the next episodes.

It was an independent incident which showed us the dynamic of the "new" Tommy Shelby and his family, the return of Arthur Shelby who will probably be in the position to stand next to his devastated brother and most important it introduced to us what is about to be followed, the ultimate face off between Tommy, Mosley, Gina and Uncle Jack.

The return of Esme was quite well fitted to the story and that's all I have to say about that.

Indeed we have reached the mid season and yet we haven't seen much but I believe after this episode season 6 will rattle the cage. I blindly trust the writers of the script they have never disappointed us.

In conclusion this episode can be described as "a calm before the storm" and objectively speaking we are not talking about a bad episode at all.

weaker than the first two
connorgallagher-2710515 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It was a weaker episode than the first two; slightly confusing - definitely a filler episode. Ada was incredible; her foreshadowing for Tommy & the ending was so sad. You can see in this episode where Tommy is gonna go in these final few episodes. I am hoping it picks up and the last few are good especially with the finale in three weeks time.

Wild goose chase
mertafor14 March 2022
I don't know, maybe it's me but things I watch lately leaves a bad taste in mouth. Even one of my favorite shows dropped the ball so badly. Seriously what was this episode about? I could understand what's happening if we've had one more season because things happened in this episode are going to affect Tommy's judgement and character more deeply in future. New characters like "Eva Braun" and Nelson introduced last episode, some other characters tries to fill Polly's position. I don't think there is enough time to handle all because only 3 more episodes left for the big finale.

On the other hand I don't understand how come a sharp and fearful character like Mosley has become a lap dog now. Weird character development choices for the sake of feminism I suppose. Apparently writers couldn't manage to maintain the balance after Polly's death.

Let's wait and see but this season has been far from satisfying so far.

Refreshing change.
W011y4m515 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This week, after 6 arduous seasons led by dull, monotonous, charmless men, it finally feels as though "Peaky Blinders" has finally figured out how to make the show interesting; have a charismatic, compelling woman run the company.

When the gang from Birmingham is plagued by a testosterone fuelled lad culture which reeks of toxic masculinity, seeing a matriarchal figure challenge the lower member's sense of power - & doing so without violence but with a natural authority (emasculating them with feminine wit)... Suddenly shifts the dynamic within the Shelby corporation until it's hardly recognisable - & it's fascinating to see how Ada's perspective (lensed through the eyes of womanhood) results in an entirely new, progressive style of effective leadership.

This is precisely the kind of direction I'd always hoped Steven Knight would take Aunt Polly's character in (& it's so sad to see how Helen McCrory never had a chance to rule like this, as she would've devoured the role, given the opportunity) but it's better late than never, I suppose. Shame it's taken THIS LONG to make such a dramatic alteration (revivifying the established style the group usually tends to stick to, subverting gender stereotypes rather than reinforcing them) but I'm glad it's done so before the end, even if it is sadly temporary - since Thomas' sister is only presiding as CEO in his stead. I really enjoyed watching her in charge.

Not up to expectations
fadhilabbas-4809526 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The conclustion of the episode is about how the peaky blinders going weak or as i think they are now, first when the shelby sister take charge of things and it is good and nice move and the way she talks and present the company good but not good at all in running the gangster first when she removes the black star she was very soft with choosing the right punishment and what make it worse was how arthur took the action of it and being more soft.

The end is coming... where's the build up?
mark-emerson14 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
So far this season has felt like filler. I appreciate substantial rewrites took place but there seems to be more effort on cinematography than story. It looks great but it's uninspiring stuff.

I just hope there's more of Stephen Graham and that wasn't it.
