- Larry Moss: You worked with Bauer for a long time, didn't you?
- Chloe O'Brian: Seven years, on and off.
- Larry Moss: That's impressive.
- [Chloe looks at him quizzically]
- Larry Moss: That you survived the experience.
- Chloe O'Brian: What are you talking about?
- Larry Moss: Only that a lot of people didn't. Curtis Manning, Ryan Chappelle, his own wife.
- Chloe O'Brian: [angrily] Are you saying it's Jack's fault that his wife was killed?
- Larry Moss: You tell me.
- Chloe O'Brian: Jack Bauer is the most trustworthy, honorable man I know, and he's my friend. Maybe you should worry less about him and more about the mole in your office working for Dubaku.
- Sean Hillinger: [after Janis threatens to go to his wife about his affair with Erika] You're a little bitch, you know that?
- Janis Gold: *You're* a little bitch.
- Ethan Kanin: [Referring to Henry Taylor getting shot during his rescue] I am so sorry Madam President
- President Allison Taylor: Ethan, I'm going to the hospital to be with my husband
- Ethan Kanin: That is not possible: you're "executing" a military invasion
- President Allison Taylor: My Generals can "execute" it perfectly well without me
- Ethan Kanin: We can't ignore the fact that the Secret Service is compromised, there's no way we can ensure your safety outside the White House
- President Allison Taylor: [Raises her voice] I don't give a damn, I am not going to be held prisoner in this Office while my husband is fighting for his life: now either find someone to take me to the hospital or I'll drive there myself
- Bill Buchanan: [Walks closer to her] Madam President, you know my record of service, if it's "acceptable" to you, I'm willing to "assume" responsibility for your security
- Ethan Kanin: Bill, your no longer "credentialed", you no longer have the authority
- Bill Buchanan: [Sternly] until we capture Dubaku and interrogate him, we have no idea who in the government is working for him
- Bill Buchanan: [to Taylor] you do not know who to trust
- President Allison Taylor: But I can trust you?
- Bill Buchanan: I brought this conspiracy to your attention Madam President, I would "hope", I earned it
- President Allison Taylor: What'd you need from me?
- Bill Buchanan: Reinstate my government clearance, "allow" me the "authority" to vet White House staff, and "allow" me to bring in one of my people into FBI, to provide Larry Moss with tactical support
- President Allison Taylor: Who is it you want to bring in?
- Bill Buchanan: Chloe O'Brian, I can "vouch" for her: she's the best there is
- Ethan Kanin: [to Bill] her clearance was also revoked when CTU was decommissioned. Isn't there anyone "capable" of handling these duties without having to reinstate her?
- Bill Buchanan: [to both of them] "someone" in the Bureau is on Dubaku's payroll, until we find out who it is, Larry Moss can't take the "chance" of bringing his own people into the manhunt for Dubaku
- President Allison Taylor: [to Bill] alright, the Director of White House Secret Service operations is Agent Hovis, I'll order him to turn over security protocols over to you
- Bill Buchanan: I know Ted Hovis Madam President, his not going to like this, his going to "fight" us
- President Allison Taylor: Well considering agents under his charge are responsible for what happened to my husband, I don't give a damn what he likes. You'll have your "provisional" appointment Mr. Buchanan under the authority of this Office
- Bill Buchanan: Thank you Madam President
- President Allison Taylor: You can "thank" me by getting me to the hospital
- Bill Buchanan: [Before leaving] I'll make the arrangements
- Ethan Kanin: Madam President...
- President Allison Taylor: [Interrupts him] your "concerns" are clear to me but I've made my decision
- Ethan Kanin: I'm only trying to do my job: looking out for your interests...
- President Allison Taylor: [Interrupts him] my "interests" right now is catching Iké Dubaku. He has killed scores of Americans today, he tried to kill my husband, and he has corrupted our government. Whatever it takes I want that son of a bitch found
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [Over the phone] it's me, have you made the preparations?
- Ryan Burnett: Almost, it's been tricky clearing a flight corridor ever since FAA still has most private and commercial aircrafts grounded
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: I think you'll manage: the arrangements are two passengers
- Ryan Burnett: Just as you requested, you sure you want to leave now Colonel? I can't "imagine" General will be "pleased" to learn that your abandoning your mission
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: The mission is over, I've done what I can. If that is not enough for Juma, then the hell with him
- Ryan Burnett: I've got your passports and itinerary already in hand: we'll meet in our usual spot in half an hour, I'll bring them
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: No, we'll meet in the lobby of the Roosevelt Continental Hotel
- Ryan Burnett: That's not a good idea, it'll be crowded there this time
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: I know, I want to make it earlier. I'll see you in fifteen minutes
- Ryan Burnett: Alright
- Larry Moss: [Over the phone] it's me, Bill Buchanan just briefed me on your "situation." What's Henry Taylor's status?
- Renee Walker: We got him in an ambulance in route to West Arlington Hospital, I don't have his "current condition"
- Larry Moss: Are you going to tell me you and Bauer were in a firefight?
- Renee Walker: We took down six of Dubaku's men but Dubaku was gone before we got there
- Larry Moss: You alright?
- Renee Walker: I've been in worse
- Larry Moss: You sure?
- Renee Walker: I'm fine
- Larry Moss: Really? I'm not so sure about that
- Renee Walker: What's that suppose to mean?
- Larry Moss: I'm looking at a report: faxed to me from Metro Police. A Mrs. Carroll Vossler is claiming an unidentified woman held her and her child hostage at gunpoint. She says the woman threatened to kill her and her son
- Renee Walker: We "discussed" this. We needed to get Vossler to tell us where Taylor was being held, it was the only "leverage" we had
- Larry Moss: Yeah, right. Whatever is necessary, Jack Bauer's "rationalization" for every "unethical action", he takes
- Renee Walker: It worked: doesn't that count for something?
- Larry Moss: Jack Bauer is about to be "strung up" by a Senate Subcommittees and you are following his "playbook." you've already got the AG's office looking into that "thing" you pulled with Tanner's respirator and now this
- Renee Walker: No one was "actually" hurt
- Larry Moss: [Raises his voice] Bauer killed the woman's husband. I swear to you, I am scared of what is happening to you: you put these people through hell and it doesn't bother you
- Renee Walker: I didn't say it didn't "bother me", I said "it worked." Of course it bothers me. I see that woman's face, she and her child staring at me with such... she had no idea her husband was a killer, a traitor to his country and she looked at me like I was the monster
- Larry Moss: [Leads her into an empty conference room with only two computer monitors] Buchanan said you'd be "up to speed?"
- Chloe O'Brian: I'm "up"
- Larry Moss: Good, Agent Walker and Bauer are pursuing a "potential" lead on Dubaku
- Larry Moss: [Showing her on one of the computer monitors] they're on route to this address in the Mount Pleasant District: Agent Walker is requesting satellite support
- Larry Moss: [Seeing her nervous] what's the matter? Is "something" wrong?
- Chloe O'Brian: I'm feeling a little "exposed" here. If "someone" out there is working for Dubaku, shouldn't we be doing this more "covertly"?
- Larry Moss: As far as anyone knows, you're just "shoring" up our firewall: besides, this is the only space available but you'll have full access to our server. Our network has the support of low modules
- Chloe O'Brian: That's inefficient. Whoever set up your network didn't know what they were doing
- Larry Moss: I set our network that way
- Chloe O'Brian: [Embarrassed] oh, ok
- Rosa Donoso: [while Marika gets dressed] what're you doing? Where are you going?
- Marika Donoso: Listen to me, we're going away from here: all of us
- Rosa Donoso: What'd you mean "all"?
- Marika Donoso: Samuel told me "the truth", he's an illegal like you thought. He has to leave the country and I've agreed to go with him
- Rosa Donoso: You're leaving me?
- Marika Donoso: No, only for a "short time", you're going to come too. Samuel's made plans for us to live with him in Belize
- Rosa Donoso: His lying to you
- Marika Donoso: His not
- Rosa Donoso: [Raises her voice] I won't let you do this
- Marika Donoso: [Irritated] my God, I have taken care of you my entire life. I've sacrificed everything for you: why can't you let me have this?
- Rosa Donoso: I don't trust him
- Marika Donoso: You've never liked any men whose shown interest in me. Every chance I had at happiness, you found some way of ruining it but not this time
- Rosa Donoso: I'm begging you, listen to me
- Ryan Burnett: [Meeting privately, slides the document across the table inside an envelope] passports and travel itinerary: Hawker Siddeley 748 is fueling at Taft Airfield. Get ready to fly within a half hour, we'll get you to the Cayman Islands. You shouldn't have any trouble getting to Belize from there
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: I need a car to get to the airfield, and a driver
- Ryan Burnett: I assumed you had your own transportation?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: It's not for me
- Ryan Burnett: I see
- Ryan Burnett: [Referring to Marika] for the girl, I'm not sure I can find someone I trust on such short notice
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [Noticing one of Burnett's men] really? What about your man at the bar?
- Ryan Burnett: Excuse me?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Or one of the two men on the balcony watching us now? Or the two in the black town car waiting for me to leave? You think I'm a fool? I know you people see me as a "liability" now
- Ryan Burnett: These men are here to guarantee your safety: not threaten it
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [Amused] "guarantee my safety", how nice, you say it with such "sincerity"
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [Leans forward on the table] I want you to take this message back with you: if anything should happen to me on my way out of the country, an "accident", an assassination attempt, anything, the plane you were so generous to arrange "decides" to explode, the data file with all the names, the bank transactions of all those involved will be sent to the Justice Department
- Ryan Burnett: That is completely unnecessary
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Same holds true to Marika Donoso. I swear to you she knows nothing of this: she's no threat to you. Make sure your driver knows this before he bring her to me. Do you understand what I'm saying?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [after Burnett is silent, sternly] I want you to tell me you understand what I'm saying to you so there's no "mistakes"
- Ryan Burnett: I understand
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [Before leaning back in his chair] good, the one thing I have learned to be in the company of mercenaries is that ultimately they care about nothing but their own survival
- Ryan Burnett: [Over the phone] yes?
- Sean Hillinger: Hey, I took care of Bauer and Walker, their "pinned down"
- Ryan Burnett: Why am I being brought in on this so last minute?
- Sean Hillinger: Moss is running this OP on he's own: it took me some time to tap in on his phone line. His on with Metro right now
- Ryan Burnett: Can you at least disable the tracking signal his using to follow the girl?
- Sean Hillinger: No, not from my console but judging from the frequency, their using her cell as the tracker
- Ryan Burnett: Alright, good work
- Sean Hillinger: You told me once Dubaku served his purpose, you'd take him out: why are we still helping him?
- Ryan Burnett: He said he'd expose us using the names and accounts of everyone involved
- Sean Hillinger: Including mine?
- Ryan Burnett: [Before hanging up] I mean "everyone." We don't know where the file is, you'd better just "pray" he gets away
- Marika Donoso: [Showing up at her job unannounced] what're you doing here?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: We need to talk
- Marika Donoso: [after looking at her watch] I get a break in twenty minutes
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [Insistently] no, now
- Marika Donoso: What is it? You're scaring me
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Something's come up, I need to leave the country
- Marika Donoso: What? When?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Right away
- Marika Donoso: I don't understand: when are you coming back?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Listen to me I haven't "entirely" honest with you, my passport and visa expired months ago and I've been in the country illegally. I'm afraid the Immigration people have caught up to me
- Marika Donoso: It was my sister wasn't it? She reported you didn't she?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: That doesn't matter now, what is important is that I have to leave country tonight, I want you to come with me
- Marika Donoso: Tonight?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: We've talked about this: that one day I will take you away from here and give you the life you deserve
- Marika Donoso: I want that too but not tonight, not so soon
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [Angrily] I don't have time to argue with you
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [after seeing her become scared] I'm sorry
- Marika Donoso: I can't leave Rosa, I'm the only one she has to take care of her, and you know that
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: I know, which is why she's going to join us
- Marika Donoso: Join us?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: As soon as possible, I could only arrange tickets for us tonight but I want you to promise that you'll not tell your sister of our plans: at least not yet
- Marika Donoso: I have to, I can't just run off
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: No, she might cause trouble for us. It'll make it impossible for us to leave. I promise you, your sister will join us in a couple days of our arrival ok?
- Marika Donoso: Alright, where?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Belize, I have shown you the photographs of my home there. Do you love me?
- Marika Donoso: You know I do
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Then trust me: say you'll come
- Marika Donoso: I'll get my things
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Now I still need to finalize our arrangements. I want you to go home, pack, and wait for my call
- Marika Donoso: Alright
- Dr. Lee Schulman: [while in the hospital, referring to Henry] if you come with me, you can see him now but you'll need to keep it brief: you should know Mr. Taylor is looking at a minimum of five hours in surgery. The bullet lacerated his Pulmonary artery and lodged in his thoracic region of the body. His also suffering massive internal bleeding
- President Allison Taylor: Can you "offer" any kind of prognosis? I'm a "blunt" woman, doctor, I appreciate "bluntness"
- Dr. Lee Schulman: His chances aren't good ma'am, but I'll do everything I can, if you'll excuse me I need to scrub up now
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: [Over the phone, as Jack and Renee listen in] are you alright?
- Marika Donoso: Yes
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: What took you so long to answer the phone?
- Marika Donoso: I was in the bedroom packing: where are you?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: What's wrong? You sound strange
- Marika Donoso: It was Rosa, she caught me packing and we argued
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Is she going to be a problem for us?
- Marika Donoso: No, I'm sorry I had to tell her everything. It was the way... but she understands now
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Are you certain?
- Marika Donoso: Yeah, she's fine now that she knows that she and I will be together in a few days
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Thank God she has an angel for a sister, are you ready to go?
- Marika Donoso: Almost
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Hurry up then, I sent a car for you: it should be there shortly, go downstairs and wait for it
- Marika Donoso: Where's it taking me?
- Colonel Iké Dubaku: Don't worry, the driver will know. I just want the woman I love to go downstairs as quick as possible
- Olivia Taylor: you're not going to find another firm that's done more high level consulting work for a relatively "small" pharmaceutical company like yours: remember my firmed helped the Governor craft a plan to swap property taxes for sales taxes in his last federal form, tell me that didn't save Dexter Carr bundle?
- Arthur Carr: Oh, it did but "specifically" looking to hire "you", I need to know what you yourself can do
- Olivia Taylor: Whatever you need: you know my accomplishments, you've seen my résumé
- Arthur Carr: I mean White House "influence." Considering your family
- Olivia Taylor: We're not lobbyists, it states that clearly in the contract
- Arthur Carr: I just thought you had the President's ear?
- Olivia Taylor: I don't. Is that going to be a problem?
- Aaron Pierce: [Walking up to them, to Olivia] excuse me
- Olivia Taylor: Do I know you?
- Aaron Pierce: [while showing her his Secret Service badge] my name is Aaron Pierce: your office told me you'd be here, I've been dispatched at the request of the President
- Olivia Taylor: Your credentials say you're "retired." Perhaps no one informed you I refused Secret Service protection months ago?
- Aaron Pierce: I'm aware of that ma'am, this is a "special circumstance"
- Olivia Taylor: Well, as you can see I'm a little busy right now: this isn't a good time
- Aaron Pierce: I'm sorry, I'm afraid I have to insist
- Arthur Carr: [to Olivia] really, it's alright
- Olivia Taylor: [to Arthur] no, it's not "alright"
- Olivia Taylor: [to Aaron] what is it that's so important for my mother to steer me away while I'm trying to do business?
- Aaron Pierce: I'm not at liberty to say ma'am, that information is "confidential"
- Arthur Carr: [Standing up to leave, to Olivia] we can make this up another time, we'll be in touch
