This is parody, so everything is exaggerated and ridiculous. All the characters are likewise. It's obvious none of it is supposed to be taken seriously

For me, Christmas movies are like comfort food. I want warm and fuzzy. I don't want constant negativity and mean spirited selfish people. There's probably a place for it, but that's not for me. Fortunately, like all these movies, the animosity and meanness between the leads disappears almost instantly and with no discernable reason, except for an occasional defensive reaction by Ginger.

I can't say much about the acting except that everyone talks too fast.

There were some funny moments. For instance, the food fight. (I wonder if that was a parody on snow ball fights.)

After all the silliness, there is the usual kind of romance story.

I actually loved this spoof offering highlighting the shallow world of social influencers and how ridiculous it is, where the unintelligent follow the 'gods' of social media; and how companies use the power of using people to advertise their products.

I was also fascinated by Donna Mills - if her eyebrows got any higher they would be part of her hairline ! and she could barely utter her lines because she couldn't move her mouth - hilarious !

If I could give 0 stars I would, it's so bad. There's such thing as so bad it's funny... well this is not the case here. Not at all...avoid and don't waste your time. How even got a rating of 4.5 is beyond me.

Am not saying that to be horrible, or at least not intentionally so. The premise was somewhat intriguing, was looking to see the mix of romance, comedy and existing fairytale, being a fan of the 'Beauty and the Beast' story. 'A Beauty and the Beast Christmas' was seen with intrepidation though, due to hearing from trusted friends about its awfulness and have had a few film experiences that really were as bad as reputed. Saw it anyway being a fan of Christmas.

Unfortunately, 'A Beauty and the Beast Christmas' joins the pile of films that really are that bad and this is being said with regret. Have been known to go against the grain and do have a few contrary opinions of my own, but there are times where general consensus is agreed with and 'A Beauty and the Beast Christmas' is one of them. Actually found it quite insultingly bad, and this is coming from somebody who is usually encouraging watching and reviewing film and television and doesn't like being critical.

For one thing, 'A Beauty and the Beast Christmas' looks cheap. Especially the worse than amateurish editing that makes one feel nauseous. The music tends to be too constant and repetitive, so much so it got tiresome and made me want to switch the mute button on. The direction is non-existent pretty much, all looking like poorly thought through improvisation.

The acting from the whole cast is awful. Everybody overacts to a headache inducing degree and the tendency to speak too fast grated fast. The characters are more over exaggerated cartoons than real people and are impossible to connect with, they would have been if there were more signs of redeemable traits but instead there are a lot of character flaws being rammed down the throat. There is no energy or nuance in the character interaction, it is all manic and stiff to painful effect.

None of the character motivations are realistic and they are often rushed to the point of last minute feeling. The first half is an agonising chore to sit through, pace-wise it is a slog, very little happens, everything feels overdone. The dialogue, in a script filled to the brim with childishness and excessive cheese, is particularly risible early on to the extent that bailing is considered strongly. There is no charm, light heart or warmth, it was all too cartoonish and mean-spirited. The ending morally felt wrong and didn't ring true for a second.

In conclusion, a terrible beast of a film. 1/10.

There was a good idea but completely ruined during the action.

Why are they talking so fast? A Christmas influencer and some bad boy celebrity skateboarder influencer team up for some reality thing. They are both annoying and things get so hyper. They stage a fake wedding for ratings. Sloppy.

The worst Christmas movie I've ever seen. The "bad" guy was shamed at the end for having a large birthmark on his chest. Is this what passes for entertainment/comedy these days?

During the first ten minutes, I was wondering if I would get through this movie. I did not find the main character to be overly endearing (an important quality for me)...Once I realised this was actually poking fun though, I found it rather amusing and quite sweet.

Terrible acting ! hyper, phony ,don't waste your time ! I will say it takes some skill to deliberately Act This poorly. I guess you might compare it to a professional hockey player Deliberately acting clumsy on skates.

Really bad, yet couldn't stop watching. Words alone cannot describe how bad this is. If there was a half point rating that would have been too high.

One star too many.

To say this was a shambles would be an understatement. This was an hour and 30 minutes of pure unadulterated torture.

Kensington's character needs to be explained. And why did the budget not cover a change of shirt for this poor woman?

Why did Beau start jumping on a woman's back to escape a locked room? Why did he turn into Shah Rukh Khan in that jumping scene? The dad?? The kid?? The nun?? Skateboard?

Why was a tiny forehead scar enough to turn a woman into a social recluse? Has she never heard of the back camera?? Voldemort aint looking for you hon.

The beast was the movie, and the beauty was that it ended.

Another movie watched for the "How Did This Get Made" Podcast "A Beauty and the Beast Christmas" feels like one of those movies that somehow deleting itself from my brain as I'm watching it. For clarity, I watched the movie six days ahead of writing this review and am going to have to go on the brief notes I made because "poof" it's gone.

Ginger Holiday (Leah Pipes) (a big sigh already for the character name) is a Christmas themed influencer, who is losing followers as she hasn't posted any new videos recently due to a minor and temporary disfigurement, from a hair dyeing incident. With a lucrative sponsor about to leave her, her manager Derek (Rob Raco) proposes a fake relationship with another of his clients, Beau (Ryan Kelley) a skateboarder, aging out of his target audience, as a way of explaining her absence from public life. Whilst initially unable to stand each other, Ginger and Beau due become close, only for Derek to suggest a public betrayal as the next step.

Maybe I've gone a bit harsh in that opening paragraph. The performances in this film, though very broad, do make the central pairing reasonably endearing. I can't say I was really aware of Leah Pipes from before, though I must have seen her in things, based on her filmography, but she seems charming enough here and I can see her carrying off a bunch of this sort of glossy nonsense roles. I hadn't heard of anyone in this film before, they're all fine if perhaps a bit bland, with the exception of GloZell, whose broad and annoying.

The film doesn't work just because it's so weirdly constructed. It's essentially just jumping quickly through the story, picking it up and seemingly random interval. I've no idea how long it supposed to be taking, it could be days, weeks or months.

To keep the budget down the film almost entirely takes place in one location. Ginger's ridiculous Christmas mansion, even at the end the car only drives as far as the gates, which do not open.

I didn't hate it, but I can't, in good conscience, recommend it to anyone else.

This movie charmed me from the first by how thoroughly the lead actors threw themselves into their ditzy roles. It's not always easy to 'play shallow' with total conviction but they nailed it. Even the slimy agent was note-perfect in this one.

As a look into the appearance-is-everything world of social media influencers - people who are famous for the image they manufacture online - the plot is only too credible.

The personal emotional & psychological costs associated with the superficial glam are very much visible here: obsession with appearance, alienation from self & loved ones, inability to trust in love that sees beyond the surface.

To manage all that while still being screamingly funny is a feat indeed. So, not a brilliant movie but a hilarious cut above many holiday comedies.

This movie is clearly not for everyone but I absolutely loved it! I actually came for Donna Mills. Ppl can sometimes be so harsh with older actresses. Did she or didn't she have any work done? Who cares she still looks like herself and IMO looks amazing.

Some ppl are a little confused as to why they called this A Beauty & the Beast Christmas but after watching it again I could see why. The assistant Kensington is so Lumier/Cogsworth and Derek is obvs Gaston. Ginger and Beau are both equally Beauty & the Beast.

The truth of the matter is, A Beauty and the Beast Christmas isn't about physical appearances with neither protagonists being the beauty or the beast. The beauty ends up being life, family, love, and our true natures. While the beast is social media, society's influence, and the internet.
