Hoichoi's recent offering for the Pandemic stricken Bangali bhodrolok is the much awaited Season 2 of Revenge Drama Paap.
Watch it for the stellar performance of Rahul - his portrayal of an insensitive bangali Police officer is nuanced and superlative. Also worth mentioning are Puja Banerjee , Bhaswar Chatterjee and Mithu Chakraborty.
The cinematography is pleasing to the eyes with some solid camera work. Although the flashback scenes are disturbing to watch , they elevate the Story to a different level. The young girl portraying a teen Parboni deserves a mention. I hope OTTs take notice of her.
Climax is the real Hero of this series although if you're a self crowned home sleuth who have grown up on a healthy dose of Agatha Christie , you might be able to guess it towards the beginning of the Last Episode. Enjoy it uninterrupted & if possible alone to soak in the thrill. 😁

The Baikuntha Chowdhury household in the village is abuzz, it's Durga Puja and a grand family reunion. This year all his children, I.e., the two elder sons with their respective families and the two daughters have arrived, and this time around after many years, the youngest son is also home. It's festive time. There's a television crew covering the traditional, 200 year old Puja. All is fine until Parboni, now popularly known as Rubina (Puja Banerjee) in tinsel town, turns up unannounced. She is grossly unwelcome and almost considered inauspicious in the household, but the fact is that her presence is stirring up a hitherto dormant nervousness among some. When asked why she has returned after so many years, Parboni brings forth a box full of gold ornaments that once adorned Maa Durga and had been said to have been stolen by her. While some people are aghast at the unusual recovery, some others who seem to know the facts loud and clear, but are mum. Suddenly, the old priest is found dead at his home. It's showtime, folks!
As if this unholy incident wasn't enough, the two younger sons, followed by the elder daughter also fall dead in quick succession, and the needle of suspicion now points summarily at Parboni, the only outsider. Inspector Haldar (Rahul Banerjee) investigates, using all resources possible and will leave no stone unturned until he has caught the culprit red handed.
Paap, directed by Joydeep Mukherjee is a serial murder mystery with multiple labyrinthine layers. The return to Parboni's past holds the key to what's happening, and while the motive behind the murders appears obvious, it remains clouded due to the murder of the priest and the appearance of the elder daughter's husband, Nabarun (Subhrajit Dutta), the other outsider. Is Parboni behind the murders or is someone else playing games? Whatever it be, the cup of sins of the Chowdhury household runneth over and it's payback time. "For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23).

Season 1 was incomplete. After completing season 2 I wanna say that it is one of the best of Hoichoi indeed. Cinamatography & story telling was just wow!! Background music induces the vibe. Star casts have done their job accurately. It will grip you to end. In short, a good web series from Hoichoi Svf than other cringy fests!!
Definitely watch it. Interesting concepts and lot of mysteries. Totally worth it. Waiting for season 2.
