From little acorns...

SVU stories are complex at times, but rarely start with a leaser crime like groping on a train to explode to much bigger, tragic predation.

Props to the cast and crew who bring such believable performances in extreme situations. Also, the variety of actors playing in the show and their unusual character nationalities and origins keeps it vibrant and novel.

Having had quite a shake up over a couple of seasons, I'd really like to see more of the new deputy Chief Garland and also the transit cop Ari'el Stachel as Sgt Haskim Khaldun. He and Rollings work well together and his character epitomises the interesting back story I mentioned above.

Give me your huddled masses yearning to breathe free

As one who believes that today's immigrants deserve the same chance that my immigrant ancestors did coming to America, I have to say that this SVU episode was a gem.

Cases can come from unexpected sources and this one comes from a sting where the squad catches a subway fondller who is an immigration official. When his supervisor gives them evidence he turns the table on Jeremy Bobb and they see his little racket is green cards for sex.

This episode has Peter Scanavino new ADA going against that Prince of Darkness of defense lawyers Delaney Williams. And it looks like Williams might just win this one.

Bobb is some piece of work. I love how he falls back on that superpatriotic nonsense about how he's dong a real patriotic service and if he gets some sex in the bargain, just a dividend. I've heard people use exactly those lines in defending the great Mexican wall.,

Thank you this episode SVU.

Good story - still waiting on karma

I was so glad to see karma hit another defense attorney. That story was great. Would so enjoy this particular defense attorney getting a dose of his own medicine, somehow. I have a feeling they'd have to go after his family in some way, which would be sad, though.

I love it when there's an unexpected story within a story. The writers wrote a perfect out-of-the-ordinary episode. Well done! A well deserved 10/10!

Maybe the best of the year

I don't know if this was ripped from the headlines but it's certainly concerning. The power immigration officials have over folks looking for green cards. A great episode with several turns. A classic SVU.
