- Doc Holliday is presented the opportunity to buy a gold brick worth $10,000 for $5,000 by Weasel Finnegan. Doc buys it and tells Weasel to get out of town but Weasel stops for a drink with a saloon girl and ends up dead. Earp has received a poster for Weasel and the gold brick which is one of five stolen from a stagecoach. Kate Holliday tells Earp Doc bought the brick and asks him to stop Doc. Earp confronts Doc who admits buying it but selling it. Under pressure he admits taking it to Mayor Kelley. Doc wants to prove not all the honest citizens of Dodge City are so honest. Kelley tells Earp he never bought it but had Doc see Miles Lenihan. Lenihan pushed it to the jeweler Newt Hamilton who sold it to Homer Blythe who admits nothing. Doc then tells Earp it is in the bank safe even though the bank president knew it had to be stolen. Earp can't confront the banker but Doc has a plan which Kate relays to Earp. Earp thinks he has stopped Doc but Doc is a step ahead of Earp. While Earp is reviewing the situation with everyone, Kate makes a revelation that upends the whole situation as Doc makes his point.—Anonymous
