SCTV has a new sponsor
Jimmy_the_Gent416 September 2018
Guy is feeling pressure from Moral Majority groups on SCTV's programming.

Andrea Martin starts things off with a show about Post Natal exercises, she has the body of a male body builder. Then a funny commercial with a New Wave looking Eugene Levy about dog food. This was a parody of a then current commercial for Bon Jour jeans.

The show's story gets started with Guy fawning to his new sponsor Sunbright Detergent. He promises not to offend any pressure groups. We see an episode of the Merv Griffith Show, which has Merv Griffin (Moranis) in Mayberry. He says things like "Fishing? Ooooh that sounds like funnnn" Joe Flaherty plays nervous Barney and John Candy is town drunk Otis.

Dave Thomas then appears as hot tempered critic Bill Needle, who is not too happy about the new sponsor. We are introduced to Mrs Falbo's Tiny Town with Martin as an off key singing children's host. John Candy appears as Mr Messenger, dressed as a court jester who announces each segment to Mrs Falbo. Levy then appears as Rawl Withers, a cigar chomping owner of a National Enquirer type rag called The National Midnight Star. It has a TV show with gossip and lurid stories. We get a hilarious Brooke Shields Show, with Catherine O'Hara as an idiotic Shields and Rick Moranis as her stage mother. Kirk Douglas (Flaherty) appears to threaten Brooke with a spanking. She does a hysterical version of the hit song "Whip It"

Count Floyd then introduces Dr Tongue's 3D House Of Stewardesses. Candy plays Dr Tongue a horror movie mad scientist and Levy is his hunchbacked assistant Bruno. A group of stewardesses arrive and are stripped down to their lingerie.

Bob and Doug have topics about car horn honking while looking at an accident. We meet Candy as Harry, the sleazy owner with a snake tattoo on his face, who owns a discount sex shop. We get evening news with serious newsman Floyd Robertson and his bumbling co anchor Earl Camembert. Earl keeps embarrassing Floyd by mentioning his drinking problem and stay in rehab.

We get a Gerry Todd Show segment with crooner Tom Monroe (Moranis) singing a Petula Clark medley and a quick song by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, only the Crosby is Bing not David. The final scene has Guy, tired of dealing with sponsors, decides to make SCTV a public TV station
