Coming of age has her driven to bring her parents killers to justice but is torn between her personal desire for long lost justice and the need to remain with her adopted family as they face the threat of western expansion. White Dove is inspired by the real-life historical tragedy of the California American Indian Genocide and while a fictional tale White Dove's quest for justice and the story strive to highlight the injustices to the American Indians and other groups including Chinese Immigrants during that time period.
