The events depicted seem to be a very inspired - and much more violent - take on the real San Francisco riots of 1877, which saw a big 2-day fight break out between the people of Chinatown and a group of Irish "anti-coolie" (slur of the era aimed at Chinese people in particular) workers.
Bruce Lee references: High jump-kicks and Nunchuks.
Ah Sahm performs (at least) one jump-kick move, something that Bruce Lee was so renowned for that martial arts film starts that came in his wake, such as Jackie Chan, intentionally avoided doing them in order to avoid what was inevitably going to be an unfavorable comparison. Ah Sahm is also seen using Nunchuks for the first time on the show (and it's suggested the character is also using them for the first time here), which was an even bigger trademark thing for Bruce Lee, who liked to incorporate them in some form into all of his films.
The title is a direct namesake of Bruce Lee's last film.
