Mallrats

Warning: Spoilers
Nearly a quarter-a-century after Kevin Smith's cult movie Mallrats was released, we have Superstore's Mall Closing, an early episode in season five. I really enjoyed Mall Closing, with the tension between Amy and her daughter, and references to social media, and Cheyenne feeling very old in the presence of the teens who have invaded Cloud 9 because the mall has closed. In fact there's a dead malls website that charts the closure of malls and definitely Mall Closing was on the dot with its finger on the pulse.

I'm really enjoying season five so far despite the negative buzz about the season pervading the internet.

This One Was A Bop!

This episode of Superstore was superb!

On this episode, the local mall has closed and the employees think the new influx of costumers will benefit the store's sales. But does it? Amy's daughter, Emma, is also at the store with her drug dealer friends. It makes more context it the show haha.

Another storyline in this episode is Cheyenne thinking she's old after some teens don't think she is "chill" and this causes another employee to befriend the teens in a surprising way which is absolutely hilarious!

Some of the funniest moments of this episode is when Dina disapproves of the teens being in store, as well as when Garrett and Jonah start making bets with Mateo after he won't take their money when he is looking for a job!

My only complaint is can we please just get a scene or two with Amy and Jonah?! PLEASE!

Overall I'd rate this episode: 9.5/10.

Amy character narcissism continues to be distracting

I'd write another review about the Amy character choosing something selfish over her employees and co-workers, but it's just so repetitive.

This time she lets her kid and her friends trash the store so her daughter will think she's cool.

Problems!

The only good thing about this episode is showing how far kids/teens have went down!! They are truly disrespectful & immature more than my generation was growing up!! To learn what not to do as a parent, watch this episode!!
