Patty's silent dream sequence is reminiscent of Charles Chaplin schtick, particularly the bit with her grappling with an exaggerated rivet hammer and shaking whole bodily even after the hammer has stopped.
This is the first of three appearances David Doyle makes in the series, each time playing Richard's father. The other two appearances occur in The Drop Out (1964) and Patty the Folk Singer (1965).
