Here our neurotic high school teacher is front and center in a world of his own creating. He is walking around like a zombie, spouting things, treating his wife insensitively, and continuing his hallucinations. Harry is on to him but he needs proof. We are given more foundational material about his relationship with the guy he let die. Death has introduced itself to him and he is falling apart. There is scene where the two of them stand on a building ledge, looking down. They recite "The Hollow Men" by T. S. Eliot as they look into the beyond. They are both off the edge. He also has an encounter with a man who is in hospice care.
