Spanish 'digital nomad' Arturo Ramirez's corpse is found in a breeding tank of the Baltic fish reintroduction program managed by Dr. Stella Liebnitz, who found him but claims not to know him. He was the most charming member of the Mecklenburg-based, hedonistic IT collective "Work, Life und Nature Center" with Amelie Haag and Simon Dehler, who inherited the estate, and was hired by Stella to write 'routine' software, but had Arturo jump in for him, not a first. Another center boarder, retired romantic author Elke Schanderer, flirts with Lars as she did with Arturo, whose fate roughly fits that of her tragic Spanish novel lead, stable-hand Alejandro who drowns in a lake. Elke's jealous husband Norbert Schanderer admits having 'stalked' her from a Wismar hotel room. Dr. Stella Liebnitz hid her own, atypical affair with Arturo.
