And the winner is...

Warning: Spoilers
I may well have been Team Alice all the way through this series, but well done to David, who came from being the underdog to win the show overall.

It was a close final, with Alice running him a close race, but the quality of baking David produced in the showstopper round made him the clear choice.

Bake Off has again produced another wonderful series.

Bake your socks off

GBBS is a charming, creative, instructive and amusing cooking show. Yes we know it's reality TV so most of the drama is artificial. But that annoyance isn't strong enough to sink this entertaining program.

Each season viewers see a dozen amateur bakers compete for champion status. Unlike the supremely irritating "Nailed It" and similar idiocy, these bakers have actual talent. Most of them have humility, and often help each other through struggles which is fun to see. It seldom takes long for each viewer to select a favorite for whom to cheer - sometimes several. Each week one contestant is crowned Star Baker and another is sent home.

Often our favorite parts are the brief intereviews with the contestants who are never salty or crass. Or the baking demonstrations by Paul Hollywood and either Mary Berry or Prue. We always learn something new there.

End of Hollywoods bakeo off

Failed jokes and lack of good contestants and judging, putting too much pressure for little reward and now a parody of original series. It looked like the best contestant had a mental breakdown almost cutting her fingers in electric whisk. The winner is guaranteed a regular magazine article or T.V work. The show has replaced M.B for P.L who is more of a professional Cook than Berry but it seem lacks the chemistry Paul and Mary had in BBC series. Noel Fieldon looks out of place and even more of a distraction than Mel and sue were.
