Kasie is Finally Becoming Real
PartialMovieViewer28 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
When Abby left, she left behind quite a legacy - like it or not. It almost seemed the bubbly presence was supposed to be filled by another, and that had to be Kasie. The new M. E. cannot replace her predecessor, no one can. Kasie is now a likable and believable entity, a real individual. I like her much better now, she actually has depth. Do I really like this episode, not really. The writers struggled with this episode. Social messaging is great for others, but not for me. It's an ok week, but far from best.

This one was a journey.

If it was Abby's Journey, as it should have been, coming in at Series 17 then this episode would be a nine+ out of ten.

As it stands, my rating of six is generous and that'a a nod to the writers.

Good story, completely unsympathetic character.

Kasey in the spotlight
connyskribent8 November 2019
The first time we get a bit of background to the character of Kasey (Diona Reasonover). Diona is a good actress, but in my opinion her character hasn´t been written very well. I like it when NCIS use ALL of the characters in the storylines. Vance is another character that sometimes disappear too much. Ok, anyway the episode in itself is pretty standard stuff, these kind of stories have been done before. Not great, but not as bad as the other reviews are suggesting. 6.5-7-rating for me. I think the show needs a shake-up of some sort to keep viewers interested.

Torres again
djrunngren6 February 2023
Good episode! I really liked this one. Getting to know Kaise better is interesting. But once again, Torres shows what a douche bag he is. How can a federal agent be wrong so much and still have a job. Even the rest of the team. When it's one of their friends, they do whatever they have to. But god forbid, Torres goes the extra mile. I really wanted to give this show more chances after DiNozzo left, but Torres makes it impossible.

At least Vance and Gibbs had her back. Anyone would do whatever it took for Abby(thank god she's gone) Hopefully they get into Kaiser's back story more. I was skeptical when she started but has been a great surprise.

Hideous episode
d-robold7 November 2019
Slow, stupid, boring, predictable; the list goes on and on. Where is the NCIS in this episode? Give us the old Gibbs and find a believable plot, SOON. This was pure drivel, all angst and "woe is me" and no acting. Also, could the rest of the characters get out of the high school mentality and grow up?

Not up to scratch for NCIS
craig-313-8811712 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A pretty dumb episode. Kasie is allowed to process evidence in a case where the accused is her best friend.

She then steals and processes evidence (because she didn't trust anyone else to do so competently). The lack of evidence, plus that she secreted the item in her bag, so could have contaminated it, is ignored.

Hopefully this is a blip, as I love the programme most weeks.

Episode 1706

Warning: Spoilers
You knew they wouldn't have Kasie's friend be guilty, but this was also a lot of bad Torres and Bishop too. While I often defend Emily from her online critics, this episode sort of justified the criticism as she came off as unlikable here.

A forgettable episode!
harrykivi30 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
"Institutionalized" is yet another average episode in this season. It's not bad, though pretty unimpressive.

Let's start with the good aspects.

. The production values of the episode are great. The direction's fine, the performances are decent and the music fits the scenery.

. The story is entertaining for the most part. I did like that we finally learn more about Casey.

But...

. Torres and Casey are agreed out of character here. Torres is too stubborn and Casey way naiive. The story is a basic "NCIS" case - one has seen similar stories before in this series. The solution I found too predictable as well.

Overall, a forgettable case.

5/10 HK.

horrible

Warning: Spoilers
The bleeding heart junk in this stupid show ruined the entire thing. The whole entire "only needs to have someone have faith" in them junk ruined the entire show. The "system" being blamed for a criminal going in and out and the lies they told about probation and going to jail for "popping wheelies" and other bull. I completely understand what they were attempting to do and yes there are some issues with our criminal justice system but they could at least have been remotely close to how it really works instead of the complete and utter lies of this show.
