This is such a special film to me. I stumbled across it on youtube but was surprised at how quickly I was absorbed into the story
Young girl in a big city struggling to make it. Except the big city is not New York, but a chinese city!! So many parallels despite the huge cultural difference and despite being a love story on its surface, it is so much more.
Movies like this are why I love Chinese cinema, I really hope we are seeing a reemergence of great movies from China in the coming years.
