Not your normal (boy love) story. These two are equals in their own rights. There is an age difference but honestly the junior is more mature than the older love interest. He is open with his feelings for the older man, while the older one is denying his true self. He is not in the closet per say yet he is too held back to ever live the life he wants.

I am a straight female so don't understand (hating) yourself for having feelings for the same sex. But I know this is all too real. I really liked how this anime addressed how conflicting it is to have feelings for someone our society might not approve of. This story is sweet and tender and even throws in some humor when these two finally get together. The sex scene made me laugh with how realistic and awkward it is the first time you are with anyone. Sorry if there are too many spoilers in this review but wanted to share my thoughts on it.

Despite most animes and movies where gay couples are mostly limited to their sexual lifestyle and boosting wrong stereotypes about them (for example: junjou romantica), in this movie we can find a romantic and sensitive relationship between mio and shun that leaves behind damaging labels for people like me who have a cuople from their own sex.

The plot is pretty basic, and many things felt random, like shun's 'fiancee' comming out of nowhere. I personally think that they could have done something better, specially with the character development, which i felt quite rushed. However, the artstyle is wonderful and the setting is beautiful as well.

It's not bad, but it could have been way better. I would say it deserves a chance since the charapters are lovely and so is the art.

Loved the plot! Loved the characters! Loved the art! Everything! I really pray and hope that this beautiful love story will get a sequel so that we may get a taste of a point of view from Mio and see how he felt as his feelings grew deeper and deeper towards Shun. My only complaint is that is wasn't long enough!!! That's it! Other than that I got what I came to see in this film.

I also like how the film didn't automatically rush into the topic of sex. Both characters needed time to develop until they felt they were ready for sex. I really appreciated that idea. Great Story I highly recommend you watch!!!

The production values for this film are absolutely gorgeous and rival big productions like Your Name. I loved looking at the art. I was also very thrilled to see beats of realistic depictions of gay intimacy. However, the one drawback was that I felt that the story itself was not very fleshed out. It felt like half the movie was missing. Why does Mio love Shun? Why does Sakurako love Shun? There's a lot of implied stuff here.
