When Jacob refuses, Reeves says that his client is Reggie and Jacob owes him his life. Jacob remembers Reggie saving his life in prison, and points out that Reggie confessed to gunning down Lucius Fox, Luke's father. The surgically-masked woman draws a knife and approaches Kimberly, who runs. Kimberly comes to an exit but discovers that it's locked, and hides. However, the intruder finds her and puts a razor to her face.
The next day, Luke comes in and asks Kate about her "date" with Sophie. She briefly describes it, then quickly switches the topic to the two models that were cut on their faces. Kate figures that since the victims were only cut on their faces, the attacks were personal. She figures that Mary might know something because the models had online web presences, and goes to see her half-sister at her clinic. Mary says that she barely knew the first victim, Kimberly, but the news was still shocking, and tells Kate that her fan base has left her since Jacob supposedly killed Catherine. She reveals that Kimberly and the other victim, Kimberly, went to the same plastic surgeon, Ethan. Kate agrees with Mary's suggestion that the victims might be prospective property buyers and that's why she's interested, and Mary offers her services if Kate needs a "sideperson". Her half-sister figures that it's safest if Mary stays out of it, but Mary leaps at the chance to approach Ethan and looks for clues. Kate tells her that she's good and leaves.
Sophie tells Diane for the first time about how she and Tyler separated, and stops Diane from calling Tyler to berate him. Sophie tells her that she's going to work at some place that aligns more with her values, which she says is more like Batwoman's. Diane dismisses Batwoman as a criminal, and finally admits that she doesn't like her because she's gay.
That night, Sophie finds Batwoman on the street and tells her that she spends her life wondering if Diane is proud of her. She explains Diane disapproves of her lifestyle, and Batwoman says that the slasher is targeting Ethan's patients. Sophie warns that she's been suspended, and Batwoman points out that Ethan might not know that.
Sophie goes into Ethan's office and tells him that his patients are targets. Ethan notes that Kimberly told her followers that she had millions of followers and thus suspects. The doctor denies ever cutting a smile into a victim's face, like Kimberly and the other victim Mia were cut, and Sophie figures that the slasher is making copycats. She asks Ethan if he's ever treated a woman with the same facial scars, and Ethan remembers treating a teenage girl eight years ago with similar self-inflicted scars and a psychiatric rap sheet.

She realizes that it's Duela's hit list and then finds a yearbook with the picture of Myrtis Dinker circled. Luke finds no records of Dinker, and has Batwoman send him an image capture of the yearbook photo. When that doesn't work, Batwoman rips out the page with the photo and hears a door close downstairs.
Batwoman goes downstairs and finds a discarded phone and a trail of blood. It leads to a tied-up Evelyn, her face scarred like the other two victims. Duela attacks Batwoman and when that fails, puts a knife to Evelyn's throat and threatens to kill her if Batwoman comes at her. She says that Evelyn forced her to be someone she hates, cuts Evelyn's throat, and flees. Batwoman uses a towel to put pressure on the wound, saving Evelyn's life.
Alice has her gangers bring psychiatrist Dr. Malone to her, and he analyzes Alice. He suggests that she has unresolved fear issues, and she insists that she doesn't have defenses. Alice tells him to "shrink" her, and Malone suggests that she get a third person to act as an emotional buffer between her and Ethan. Mary returns to her clinic with pizza, and finds Alice stealing drugs. A ganger grabs Mary and drags her the rest of the way in, and Alice points out that she saved Mary's life after Nocturna's attack and now Mary owes her. She says that she did it mostly because of Batwoman, not Mary, and as she goes Mary asks her if she knows Batwoman's secret identity. Alice says that she does and suggests that since Mary doesn't know, Mary and Batwoman aren't friends after all.
At the factory, Duela suspends Veronica over a vat of chemicals and says that she's doing her a favor Duela says that she was finally happy, and Veronica points out that happy people don't slice their faces open. Her captor insists that the only difference between them is that she got institutionalized and Veronica got famous.
Duela starts to lower the chained-up Veronica into the chemical vat using a winch. Sophie cuts off Duela's escape, and Duela attacks her with her box-cutters. Meanwhile, Batwoman rescues Veronica jamming the winch with a batarang.

Mary tells Kate that she knew she didn't have to worry about her judging her because she trusted Kate, and she hopes that Kate feels the same about her someday. With that, Mary leaves.
Ethan wakes up in Alice's lair and finds her glaring at him while her gangers hold him. She finally tells him to drop the act and rips off his Ethan mask, revealing August.
