Mr. Rugoff, a movie distributor, founded cinema 5, which included cinema I, and II, the paris theatre, the sutton and beekman tneaters in nyc. In the 1970's, cinema 1 an 2 were the premier theaters in nyc. It's where important films opened first and played for ever. Rocky, the exorcist, swept away, etc. The lines were around the block, rain or shine or snow. No waiting inside. Apparently mr. Rugoff was a difficult man to deal with. At one point he is compared to harvey weinstein. Not my words. Anyway, as a big moive buff i thought i would enjoy this story. The fact it, it's boring. You get the gist of his personality early on and that's about it. There is a mystery, but i won't spoil it for you.
