Telluride — The 41st Annual Telluride Film Festival is over, and as noted by HitFix's own Kris Tapley, it has provided an important awards season kickoff for films such as "Birdman," "The Imitation Game," "Wild," "Rosewater" and "Foxcatcher." Even with the recent star power of George Clooney and Brad Pitt, Telluride has been able to hang on to its singular charms as a non-red carpet, low-key, cinephile event (even if there were two new Canadian journalists on hand to check everything out and report back to the motherland). (Kidding.) (Maybe.) Yes, much to the chagrin of the Telluride organizers, the Tiff vs. Telluride (vs. Venice) story just won't go away. Even festival regulars who have attended for decades gossiped about how they couldn't believe how much press the story had gotten. Happily, it wasn't the only takeaway from another beautiful festival in the Colorado mountains. 'The Imitation Game' is...

When Doctor Who returned to our screens in 2005, I was genuinely excited. Despite having grown up in the period following the cancellation of the classic series, I quickly became a fan through watching the repeats and collecting the stories on video cassette. My job just keeps getting easier; more season finales tonight so there's less TV for me to list the further we inch towards summer. Of course, that means there's less to talk about, highlight and make fun of so we're about three weeks away from "Everything's stupid. Here's your damn TV" being the entire intro to this column. Anyway, I hope all you "Bones" and "Parks and Recreation" have your snacks lined up and your space on the couch cleared out. For those of you who are still in the hostage situation that is "Grey's Anatomy" well, I'll probably be there with you. And I'd like to wish everyone a happy Rapture or (more likely) a happy Saturday. I'm sure as shit not going anywhere, and I doubt many of you are either. Thanks to Jason Harris I'll be spending it at Exxxotica so I guess if this whole thing...
