A fun-filled Fall weekend
PudgyPandaMan29 August 2008
The Gosselin family are ready for fall. They take the kids to pick pumpkins at a pumpkin patch. The kids had fun. They pick 2 large pumpkins for the parents, 2 medium size for the twins and 6 small ones for the sextuplets.

Next, it is off to the orchard to pick apples. Mady has a meltdown because her dad takes her basket. The little kids get into pulling the apples off the low branches. On the interview couch, Jon and Kate get into a discussion that Jon is the fun one and Kate is the anal, organized one - but that they balance each other.

Then, they visit a corn maze. Kate is nervous because she's afraid the kids will get separated. Kate is bossy and giving orders. They constantly are counting kids to make sure no one is missing. At one point, they can't find Aaden. Jon sneaks up on Aaden and when they see each other, they bust out laughing. They talk about how it started to get crowded and people were rude to cut in front of them.

Finally, it is pumpkin carving time back in their garage. Jon says it is usually his project because he loves doing it. But this year, he lets the kids help. Jon jokes that he put a frown face, appropriately, on Kate's pumpkin. Kate says she is going to put a big, round belly on Jon's.

Kate starts to freak out over the mess and insists Jon stop what he is doing so she can clean up the messy paper tablecloth covering the table. Jon says she just snaps, and Kate admits there comes a point where she actually gets panicky and says "I have to clean up and clean it up NOW!". Jon hates that she insists of interrupting the kids good time. They say it was a packed fun-filled weekend. Although it was tiring, the want to give the kids good memories.

This is a sweet episode - but it also the one of the first in the series (before all the fame and celebrity has set in). Jon and Kate are much more relaxed and affectionate towards one another in the interview chair. Contrast the early episodes with the current ones, and you see how much strain this show is causing the family. Even the kids seemed happier and more content here. I hate that reality TV seems to be spoiling this family.
