- Midnight Kiss follows a group of longtime gay best friends and their straight female bestie as they head to a beautiful desert home to celebrate New Year's Eve. One of their annual traditions is to play a game called Midnight Kiss, a sexy but ultimately dangerous challenge to find that special someone to help you ring in the New Year. As friendships have grown strained with secrets, jealousy and resentment, the group faces another challenge when a sadistic killer wants in on the game. Relationships are put to the test and truths are revealed as the night turns into a fight for survival.
- December 31, 2019. As is tradition, physician Joel, the controlling and somewhat condescending one in the group, has invited his perpetually single gay male West Hollywood friends and their proverbial fag hag friend Hannah to stay at his Palm Springs home for the weekend, Palm Springs where they will ring in the New Year at a gay club. This year, they will be down one as Ryan has a new sugar daddy who is whisking him away to the Caribbean for New Years, and up one other with the addition of Joel's relatively new boyfriend Logan, they announcing their engagement this day. While most within this group have casually had sex with each other at one time or another, including with Hannah, the addition of sexual traditionalist Logan to their social circle has been slightly awkward for photographer Cameron, he and Joel the only two in the group who were once in a relationship together, Cameron who broke it off and most in the group unspoken siding with Cameron regarding the breakup. As is also tradition now in its seventh year, they will partake in a game called Midnight Kiss developed by Joel specifically to avoid that awkward moment at midnight: they will find someone that night at whatever New Year's Eve party they attend to be their midnight kiss. The three rules: the person has to be a stranger they meet that night; the kiss needs to be consensual; and each person and his/her midnight kiss can do whatever they want together until dawn when they will say their ultimate goodbyes. Despite their engagement, Joel and Logan have agreed to play the game. What they don't know is that each receiving cryptic anonymous notes, all pertaining to the game, are calling cards of someone whose goal is to murder them all brutally by the end of the game this year.—Huggo
