Has all the thrills that you want. Mysteries that you want and the edge that you want too. But just doesn't fit with the main storyline of the series. Feels like a bit exaggerated.

The Homeless
claudio_carvalho23 October 2021
While chasing on foot a smalltime crook, Nolan and Harper find a dead body in a derelict warehouse. Nick teams-up with them and soon they learn that the victim was a homeless lodged in a hotel room. They go to the room and find money and shoppings. Out of the blue, another homeless man arrives but flees. They chase him but Tim and Chen arrest the man in the nearby alley. Further, Tim recognizes him the soldier Mitch that served with him in Afghanistan and lost his leg. A further investigation shows that the money found by Mitch's friend is false and the case belong to a higher level beyond the scope of LAPD. But Tim wants to help Mitch to find the killer of his friend and his friends will not let him investigate alone.
"Casualties" is a full of action episode of "The Rookie" reasonably resolved in the end. The unbelievable plot is not among the best of this series. My vote is seven.

Not The Rookie I Know and Love, but Good
SourCandyOrNoCandy12 April 2022
This episode didn't feel like The Rookie I know and love. I miss the small-scale cases we used to have. This episode was fast and high-energy which was a nice change, but I hope this isn't the norm going forward. It was an okay episode but definitely not a favourite.

Best part of the episode?
- I always love to see Lucy and Jackson's home life so those scenes were really good. I also like that Lucy's new dog went to Tim. I knew that was going to happen as soon as she said she gave it up.
- I loved Teddy and his father. They turned up to the police station to report something that they caused by doing something illegal. That was hilarious.
Worst part of the episode?
- Like I said, not a huge fan of the episodes where they don't seem like rookies anymore but are tackling huge cases that have national security implications.
- Tim's military history was just thrust on us when that was never mentioned before. It didn't feel natural.
- We saw Lopez a little more than Jackson but we barely saw either of them. We have four scenes in this entire episode.
Utterly implausible storyline
