Victoria Riskin plays the role of Ann Darrow, the role her mother, Fay Wray played in the original King Kong (1933).
Some of the footage was originally created for Hammer Studios for a proposed King Kong remake.
The close-up hands were created and performed by Rick Baker, who would play and create the title character in the 1976 remake of King Kong (1976).
Originally, they wanted ape-suit performers to do the close-up hands. They asked George Barrow, but he turned it down. Then they asked Janos Prohaska, but he wanted to be paid with more money. As it turned out, Rick Baker ended up performing the hands.
King Kong association would continue in 2004, in which he appeared in a print ad for the Volkswagen Polo.
