- Racing to a scene where a pregnant chick is about to burst, Lou reports. They get there and it's Colleen. Sean faints, Tommy delivers the baby. Lou cradles him. But she's not done yet. There's a second one coming. Mike faints, too, as Colleen keeps pushing. The second one comes out and she promises to name them after her daddy. And then a third one starts to come. Black Shawn shows up. Tommy worries he might pass out like the other two. He says he's just there to support his beautiful wife. They were going to tell Tommy. Black Shawn shows him the ring and Tommy sits bolt upright in bed. Awake.
Derek, Tommy's sponsee calls again.
Chief Feinberg responds to Tommy's news that he passed his section 8 hearing by promising to watch him like a hawk.
Mike tries to apologize to Franco for botching the Lumberjack bar theme. But he has another idea that he's sure no one's thought of: an all-black bar. Franco guesses the name is White. He worries about sending the wrong message. Mike suggests Franco stand in the window so people of color will feel comfortable coming in. From the other room, Sean shouts that he loves it. He's lying face down on the couch, the only position that doesn't cause him any pain. Franco knows a good back doctor.
Sheila asks Tommy why he won't help with Damian. Her psychodramatherapist, as Tommy responds that Damian isn't his problem. Sheila corrects his impression of Tommy. He tells her he was a professional actor for a while, and cites more bona fides. She mocks his musical theater background and when he snaps at her about being another critic in his life, she decides it's a pretty good Tommy impression.
On a scene, Tommy and Lou discuss the hotness of the journalist Genevieve. Black Shawn walks by and offers to help. Tommy is decent to him and Lou is impressed that Tommy's handling the Colleen thing so well. He doesn't smoke he doesn't drink, what's not to like? Lou notes that Tommy must also be pleased about the whole not having sex thing. Say what? Lou tells Tommy they're waiting till they get married. This time, when Black Shawn walks by, Tommy isn't so kind. Where did they go wrong? Tommy wonders. They raised her a lapsed Catholic, she should be on birth control, having tons of premarital sex. He doesn't want Colleen to turn into her mother. Tommy decides he's going to talk his daughter into having sex to kill the marriage.
Franco talks to Genevieve, continuing his conspiracy theory ideas about buildings collapsing due to structural failures on 9/11. Tommy walks by and Genevieve interrupts Franco to talk to him. She wants him to check her notes for accuracy, including the part where he called her a hot piece of foreign a--. Then she invites him to a gallery opening.
In the kitchen, Mike lays down the bar law about not spouting conspiracy theories. He thinks it's disrespectful to the men they lost, because Franco's saying they weren't heroes, they were dupes. They go at each other and Black Shawn breaks it up. Sean doesn't move to help, just sitting there.
Sheila introduces her psychodramatherapist "Kirk" to Tommy, saying they know each other from cooking class. Kirk studies Tommy intently. Tommy pulls Sheila aside. He's not buying the cooking class story and guesses who he is. Tommy catches Kirk taking a picture of him and gets weirded out. Sheila plays it off, chalking it up to his self obsession. When Sheila shouts Kirk at him, he doesn't answer, and Tommy thinks he forgot his fake name. Colleen walks in, bringing Black Shawn his iPod. As Sheila and Kirk walk away, he says it's going to be a tougher case than he thought.
Tommy talks to his daughter, complimenting her. He says he and her mother think Shawn's great and have no problem with the fact he's black (except he talks about it so much it starts to sound like he really does have a problem). He babbles until Colleen asks what the problem is. Tommy says if she was going to buy a car, you'd test drive it. She catches on. But Sean walks in and thinks she's actually buying a car. They run him off. He says she should make sure the parts fit. "Are you actually telling me to have sex with Shawn?" she says. No, but yes. Do the "Clinton thing," he says. She reacts about like a teenage girl would upon hearing her dad recommend oral sex. She leaves.
Sean waits in a doctor's office. A middle aged woman comes in and tells him her methods are unorthodox. He says that's fine because he's not Jewish. He lies on the table face down and the woman hikes up her skirt and climbs on top of him, straddling him. She starts rocking and breathing excitedly. Sean is uncomfortable with her methods but it's too late to stop. She's in full moan.
Sean goes to the firehouse looking for Franco. He says he's never been to see her himself. Sean seems to rethink his angry approach and tells Franco it was great and he should try it himself. Franco says he can't afford it, but Sean wants to pay as a great big thank you.
Lou greets Genevieve outside the firehouse, telling her he wrote some poetry after 9/11. He offers to drop it by her place, he just needs the address. She writes it on his hand.
In a burning building, they test doors. In the middle of the blaze Black Shawn asks Tommy if he told his daughter to service him. Tommy acts indignant, denying everything. Shawn says he wants to be strong and focused. He's going to wait and give her that good loving on their wedding night.
Genevieve interviews Feinberg, who talks about serving in Vietnam and dealing with an anti-Semitic army buddy. After he died, he found out the guy was Jewish. Feinberg blames religion for causing problems, saying what's a couple of towers?
After the art gallery show, Tommy walks Genevieve home. They stand outside her door awkwardly. She asks if he's going to make his move. He says he's never made a move on a French girl before. She invites him up for wine. He says he has an alcohol allergy. He asks if she's inviting him up to pump him for info for her book. She says yes and up they go.
Franco waits in the doctor's office. A hot young blonde comes in. She and her mother practice together. She warns him about the unorthodox thing and hikes up her skirt.
Tommy and Genevieve make out. He pauses, saying he's living with someone, but it's not going great. She says it's fine because she's married, but her husband has a mistress. Then he says he doesn't think they should sleep together, but let things happen in stages. She gets him his coat, but says she's not mad like a woman who really is mad.
Mike and Sean and Shawn stand in a completely black space. So black you can't see anything but them. He tells them to take a look around, but they can't see anything. Sean walks off and immediately hits the deck. Shawn goes to find him. Mike starts to get freaked out by the darkness. There's more crashing and smashing from Black Shawn. Franco comes in and immediately disappears into the darkness. Franco starts to thank Sean for the doctor referral and Sean apologizes. But Franco loved it. After she rode his back, he let her ride his front. Sean thinks he's a sick bastard.
Mike and Franco walk down the street and Mike tells him about deciding to be a firefighter after seeing footage of 9/11. He wanted to fight bad guys and if Franco is telling him the bad guys are his government, its too scary for him. They make peace.
Tommy comes home and Valerie wakes up. He reminds her he was at a thing. She asks if they can fight in the morning. She hugs him goodnight. He smells like wine. She thinks he was drinking. He tells her a very long story about the French journalist and how she drinks wine and that must be why he smells. And, by the way, that French chick has nothing to do with why he wanted her to do the accent in bed. She says nothing. He knows she didn't buy it. He says he'll get his stuff.
Over the plaintive tune of a French song Tommy walks his horse dog, Genevieve sips wine on her balcony and Mike and Franco talk in the park.
