Slow, but revealing.

DS Jones and DC Clark attempt to halt the cremations, but fail, and the funerals occur, Jeremy invites the Detectives to the wake, where they witness his strange behaviour.

As I mentioned previously, this could have definitely been made into a four part serial, six is pushing it. This was revealing, and well made, but it was very slow. I'm not sure we learned a great deal from this episode, it just further showed us of his guilt.

It looked nice, we learned a bit more, it was just a bit of a mid point lull. Mark Addy is definitely stealing it, 6/10.

Slow is not the word!

If the first three episodes were slow, boy was this the worst yet. How ITV have dragged this mediocre drama out beyond two episodes is beyond me. It's by the numbers crime and frankly feels implausible so no wonder twitter is awash with people turning off because they're bored or pointing out discrepancies with the real case. I guess this is what happens when viewers aren't engaged and there is nothing to get engaged in here. Terrible accents, some awful acting and a wig that should have its own show! I'm just left asking why ITV wasted so much money on this dross. Surely there are better crime stories worth telling? Look at Netflix telling important and relevant crime stories like Unbelieveable and When They See Us and it just makes ITV look so old fashioned to be churning out yet more, dull as can be 'middle aged white male police officer fighting for justice'. Having seen a few ITV true crime dramas I'm getting dejavu because they're all basically about the same thing. Manhunt, A Confession and now this. ITV need to get an imagination and stop treating their audiences like idiots only capable of understanding the same old story.

Wading through treacle!

This series is so slow going it could have easily been condensed into three episodes. Such a shame the writers didn't consider looking into every side of the human tragedy of Whitehouse Farm and the devastation of miscarriages of justice. What a turkey ITV pulled with this one!

The series crawls on at a snail's pace. I hope that you are not like myself and you are not watching the first four episodes back to back. ITV do seem to be stuck in a rut with these real life crime dramas. At least the camera angles are better than they were in A Confession and, unlike Manhunt, the story is not just about one centralised character but could be so much better. At least the episode closes with a cliff hanger but there are still 2 episodes to go. The retro aspect keeps me watching. Just a shame no. 80s music or TV shows being featured.
