Judgment Day.

It's the day if the trial, compelling evidence is given from both sides, so it's up to The Jury to give a ruling on the tragic events that happened that night at White House Farm.

We don't often get a courtroom drama, I enjoyed this final episode, where we learn the outcome of Jeremy Bambwr's fate. It promoted me to read up about the man in question. It was done in a way which left some questions unanswered.

Freddie Fox was terrific here, he portrayed Bamber as cool, calm and collected, he's kept up the facade the whole way through. Strong production values throughout.

I enjoyed it, 7/10.

Jeremy did it. Plain and simple. Literally nothing points to Sheila.

...with the reviews here that say the series dragged in too many places. That the story could have been told in two hours rather than six (not allowing for commercials - a full two hours.

The end credits about the people involved did not mention that DCI Thomas 'Taff' Jones died in a home accident before this went to trial. He apparently fell off a ladder. This I read in a article about the case.

I also noted that the story-line section in many eps was written by someone very biased about the case. Many comments were added about Ann being a jealous sibling. I saw nothing in the eps to suggest she was motivated by anything but suspicion over the way Jeremy was behaving. Her discovery of the latch was, indeed, key. Other than that, she had zero to do with the trial. Ann was an adopted child, yes? Would she even have anything to gain? With Jeremy in prison and her not being blood, the estate would I imagine go to auction by the county.

I realize to this day a group of campaigners believe Jeremy to be innocent. However, they are ignoring the reloading of the gun which Sheila would not have been adept at, and that her finger nails were not broken by doing so in spite of the speed required to reload. Never mind that the shells were downstairs and the shootings occurred upstairs. That the drama did not bring these things up in the trail segment was surprising.

Strong, powerful and gripping

A rather decent portrait of a horrific episode in British criminal history.

The characterisations portrayed are eminently believable and bring a significant weight to this horrid story. The tension portrayed is balanced nicely and made this a nice "look forward to" weekly. :)

I must raise profound concern with the quality of the wigs used extensively throughout the programme. They are so poor in quality it appears the props department must have got them for about five bob each from an advert in the News of the World :(

Drivel!

At the beginning of the programme it stated 'This is a True Story'..... problem is it isn't a true story. It's a fictional drama with many inaccuracies and made up characters. In those circumstances how is the public expected to tell fact from fiction. It would be irrelevant were it not for the true story behind this being the devastation caused by mental illness and the fight for justice for 35 years. In addition, the showing of graphic scenes of the adult victims taken from crime scene photos is beyond reproach for a broadcaster like ITV who should know better! What would have been a true story would have been what the jury were not told and how an innocent man was condemned to spend the rest of his life in prison for crimes he didn't commit. White House Farm is a tragedy that is unresolved and not tacky entertainment.

Horrified

Well how low can itv stoop in showing such graphic images of the deceased adults!! Absolutely zero respect or dignity was shown!!

I thought i had seen it all but i was left shocked and disturbed.

I suppose that was the plan of the producers to create an emotional response from viewers, however this was not a fictional case and as such i did not expect this level of graphic imaginary at all considering they were a much loved family who are still mourned deeply. The horror of those images will now haunt me for ever.

So we finally reach the end of a series which surely could have been shown in half the time. It probably was the best episode but, without a sting in the tail, this episode seemed pointless as the filmmaker had played all the cards weeks ago. Congratulations to everyone that made it to the end.
