This episode was one of a group of episodes which were transmitted in a non-standard format. Instead of each story being transmitted as three 25-minute episodes at lunchtime on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the same week, this episode was transmitted as a single 75-minute episode at prime time on a Saturday. Affected episodes were Who Killed Cock Robin? (1975), Songbirds Out of Tune (1975), Inner City Blues (1975), Marathon (1975), The Natural Bond (1975) and Evil Liver (1975).
Ruth Silvestre was given black-face makeup to play a black character Cheryl Vandamm, rather than a black actress being used. This was acceptable practice in the 1970s, even though it would be regarded as offensive several decades later.
