We start the episode with Nathan telling Elizabeth that he will be out of town for a day. As he walks away, Lucas comes by and invites Elizabeth to take a trip with him to Union City to listen to Virginia Woolf do a book reading. She's hesitate and asks him if she could give him an answer later on.
Clara and Jesse return from their honeymoon. As they settle in, Jesse starts to act a little strange. He is secretly feeling bad about moving in his old, dirty items into Claras clean house. Clara ends up getting back the old chair that he loves and some of his other things and tells him not to worry about having them in the house.
After a talk with Rosemary, Elizabeth tells Lucas that she will accompany him on the trip as long as he knows that they are just going as friends.
Rosemary and Lee babysit Little Jack and end up losing his favorite toy dog. They search all over town and eventually find it on the couch after Elizabeth has returned and little Jack has gone home.
Elizabeth and Lucas have a wonderful time at the reading and while eating dinner, Lucas admits that he didn't know beforehand much about Virginia Woolf. Him and Elizabeth have a lovely and romantic chat during dinner.
Meanwhile in Hope Valley, Allie has told Nathan about Lucas and Elizabeth's trip and Bill finds him chopping wood angrily.
Something puzzling is happening with Gowen and his company. He told Lucas that he's having some finical problems. Lucas also learns from Hickam that Gowen is the only one to see the books at the office. Lucas is getting a bit suspicious. Gowen visits Dr Carson for an examination and Carson tells him that he needs to take a day off because his blood pressure is high.
We end with Lucas and Elizabeth returning from their trip. Elizabeth tells Rosemary that it was perfect.
Personally, I am Team Lucas which is why I rated the episode so high. The talk they have at dinner is so lovely and Erin Krakow looks fabulous in that dress!
