Worst episode of the season...and it's not particularly close
noahyingling3 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This season has also been the worst so far and it's not particularly close. No Eve and Jay Leno can only bring so much to the show when he's a minor character. Kyle is good but the others are lacking this season.

This episode's main storyline deals with Jen's graduation. The episode is in early April so the timeline is off on it. No mention of the events in the previous episode (Vanessa thinking of dropping out of her election). Jen's mad that her dad is moving on with another woman and they are coming to Denver to see her graduate. The subplot is everyone else in the cast besides Mike, Vanessa, Ed and Jen arguing over the Laurel and Yanny sound clip that was popular 2 years ago. It's not funny anymore. They get mad at each other and Ed says to get over it and get back to work.

The only reason why it's a 2 rating and not a 1 is that the end deals with Mike moving on from Eve not living at home anymore as Vanessa was moving some of the stuff from Eve's room out.

I love the series overall but it's a far cry from what it was on ABC and it's because the new Mandy isn't as good as the other one and Eve is gone. Those two made the show. Unfortunately, especially after this episode, I think the series has jumped the shark.

Awful episode

Any episode centering on Jen is awful. First the new Mandy. Then replacing Eve with Jen. This show has gone from great to dreadful. Time for it to end.

This season has been a serious decline from before, but this episode is just plain stupid.

Warning: Spoilers
The stuff with Jen and her dad was fair, and Mike getting used to the idea that Eve will never move home is decent. But the fact that 4 cast members are fighting, to the point of not speaking to each other, over the stupid Laurel/Yanny audio clip (which made it's way around the internet about 2 years before this episode was aired) is just about the stupidest, most ridiculously contrived conflict I have seen in any TV show ever. It's the kind of thing people laughingly argue over for about 5 minutes, not angrily argue over and refuse to speak to people they love for at least a full day. This used to be one of my favorite shows, but season 8 is just terrible because it gives stupid "plotlines" like that.
