David Sinclair realizes he left his wallet upstairs when he decides to go buy his lunch. Unknown to him, a disturbed man, Ben Blakely, had shot an agent and forced his way into an elevator. A stand develops when both Ben Blakely and David Sinclair point their weapons to each other, something that might end in a tragedy for the one who is shot at first in the claustrophobic setting of an elevator stuck between floors.
The viewer is kept in suspense since there seems to be no apparent reason for Ben to behave in the manner which has already injured an agent. When the department starts digging into the motive, they find out Ben has been involved in some type of electronic snooping, but now he is being watched himself.
A dramatic rescue is planned. Agents will descend to the top of the elevator cap trying to eliminate the threat to David. Charlie, who happens to be in the building tries to explain his theory about a Chinese room, but he does not get a warm response to his proposal. Adding to the tense situation, Don Eppes and his team cannot differentiate between who is who in the blurry images they get from a device that gives out only shadows of the two men stuck in the elevator.
Ken Sanzel, who is part of the creative team of "Numb3rs" wrote the screenplay. Dennis Smith directed. Alimi Ballard, who plays David Sinclair is featured in the episode. The actor shows he has what it takes to project the desperate situation he is living. Enrico Colantoni is also fine as Ben Blakely.
