Crossing Too Many Lines
robfollower26 March 2020
Fans have known since Chicago Fire , Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) crosses lines. But in Chicago P.D. Season 7, it's Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) who is making some questionable decisions. In "Lines," Intelligence tries but fails to build a case against the head of a drug trafficking organization.

In a way, it's a battle between Jay and Voight for Hailey's soul, so to speak. There's the two different versions of being a cop, and Hailey admires and respects Voight and Halstead very much. They do things differently, and she's, in some way, trying to figure out exactly who she is and how she polices.

Not a fan

Of Rojas. Gave it time but she hasn't grown on me. She's been there five minutes and already screwed up more than once.

I miss Dawson and Olinsky. Sigh.

I miss Antonio and Al

At least we got real stories with them and no need to play the "strong and independent" cop who tales no bs from nobody. In this season we got Kim the pregnant lady with the "my body my rules" mantra and the dude walking on egg shells not to annoy Her Majesty.. and Upton who constantly gives one liners to Voight whenever he asks her something after a screw up on her part. And he just lets her be.. had it been Antonio, they would've a very heated argument. That's why I miss him the most cause with these new female leads, Voight just gets shut down, nods and leaves without saying much. Upton is the worst character ever. She judges everybody and when it's her turn to get emotional on case and she gets called on that.. wow.. she just gets mad and it's pretty much the same routine with her. Please writers don't make her and Jay a couple.

Unwatchable

I used to love this series, but with this episode I am giving up watching. I am sure that the storyline was good, but I could not follow it, due to the sound quality and especially the mumbling dialogue. Why is it that actors find it necessary to mumble-whisper their lines. I have been finding it hard going, for some time. Do not the directors realise that there millions of non-american English speakers out there, watching this, that would have difficulty understanding dialogue in the way it's delivered. I know many people who have said the same thing to me. It seems to be a trend in US series to mumble or whisper their lines with a heavy American accent. There are exceptions for exempte : Biacklist. I tried sub-titles, but this does not make for a satisfying experience., and are not always available. I should add that I am a native English (British) speaker.

Going nowhere

Keep adding diminutive females and they can call the show Charlie's Cheaters. Rojas is not believable.
