The killer's name, Adkov Telmig, is an anagram for Vodka Gimlet, the favorite drink of director Edward D. Wood Jr. He was credited in several works as Akdov Telmig. Cinematographer Gary Graver, who has worked with Orson Welles, has also used the pseudonym Akdov Telmig.
The Character name Daniel Davis is an homage to the pseudonym Ed Wood used in the film Glen or Glenda (1953).
The production was filmed on weekends, but went over schedule due to actor availability and scheduling access to the shooting location. The script was written for that specific farm location. Production was delayed by the director attending and completing law school.
