By far, one of the best

Les Luthiers has always shown a great talent, combined with very fine humor and excellent music. And of course, "Las Obras de Ayer" isn't the exception. Although the DVD hasn't got some of the favorites, like "El Sendero de Warren Sanchez" or "La Hora de la Nostalgia", it still has some of the best numbers. For example, "Quien Conociera a María Amaría a María", a piece from 1987, is a pretty unknown number where Jorge Maronna sings a song telling the story of when he met Maria, while Marcos Mundstock and Carlos Núñez Cortés do the mimics. "Canción a la Independencia de Feudalia", from 1983, has a great introduction and the letter of the song has a brilliant political content. "El Regreso de Carlitos", another number from 1983, makes a parody of the Gardel movies, with delightful word games.

This is the reason why I give this DVD 9/10.
