"National Geographic Explorer: Science of Evil" is a show about evil. I asks a lot of questions. What is evil? Are we born evil? Why do seemingly good people do evil? The problem is that all these questions and many more in the show are all VERY complex and cannot be answered adequately in a 50 minute show. Additionally, the religious aspects of evil are mostly ignored (apart from an interview with the minister who baptized Jeffery Dahmer in prison). Overall, the show is fairly interesting but it never really answered the questions it posed because the questions came rapidly and there just wasn't enough time to really explore such a complicated concept. My feeling is that the show should have either been a series OR it should have had a much tighter focus, such as what they did in the amazingly good documentary "Hiter and Stalin: Roots of Evil" which attempted to find similarities to their childhoods to determine if there is an ideal way to create an evil child. Mildly interesting but that's about all.
