Low rent sci-fi fun 50's style

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, Captain Z-ro, Roy Steffens, and his helper, Bruce Haynes, build a robot. They plan on sending the robot to Venus to do some exploring. It is safer to send a robot than go themselves.

Just as they are about to send the robot through the time booth to Venus, a electrical storm hits the lab. The robot is sent to San Francisco instead of Venus.

Needless to say this causes some panic with the people there. Steffens manages to use the viewer scope to find "Roger" the robot before anyone is hurt.

They teleport him back to the lab where they discover a bolt of lightning had fried some the robot's systems.

Again, not bad for a show of this type. The makers try and fit a little bit of real science into the show for the kids. (b/w)

Tin-man on the lam

An attempt by Captain Z-ro (Roy Steffens) and Jet (Bruce Haynes) to teleport their newly completed robot (Roger) to Venus fails due to a power outage and the mechanical man materialises in San Francisco. Unlike most episodes of the ancient science fiction kids show, this story doesn't involved a didactic trip into the past, instead we get a brief lesson in celestial mechanics followed by a light-hearted travelogue as the classic fifties tin-hominoid cavorts around landmarks in the City by the Bay. Despite the Captain's ominous warnings about the robot's potential for destruction, the story is mostly played for laughs and nothing bad happens. Silly fun but a notch below the goatee'd Captain's adventures rocketing around outer space.
