This was so well done. Emotional - funny and sad. The writers, the actors, the music - everything about it. It was beautiful. I hope this show is renewed...it's the high point of my week.

SPOILERS AHEAD...
So...I'm a nobody in healthcare for almost 20 years...as soon as he chuffed that little laugh "he's having a good day", I saw where it was going. People near the end sometimes experience an uptick, talking, eyes open, recognizing family members....we like to think it's so your last memory of your loved one is a good one....seen it quite a bit. This was an INCREDIBLY well done episode. Kind of always thought of Peter Gallagher as a character actor...when he looks back on his body of work, he will be proud of what he accomplished here. Just one man's opinion.

Absolutely Incredible

Such a moving and poignant episode that tackles difficult scenarios expertly. As with all the episodes, the series finale uses music to work through emotional topics in a way that enhances instead of taking away from the story, but this episode in particular absolutely soars thanks to its impeccable song choice and incredibly talented cast.
Emmy-deserving episode

It was not only flawless but visually astonishing. The music selection was worthy of an award by itself. The last number, filmed in a single shot is perhaps one of the most artful pieces of TV I have seen in my life. Hope to see an Emmy node for this episode.
Thank you

Thank you for creating this. I have lost so much this past year and watching this final episode, I just thought of my sister who suddenly passed nearly 8 months ago, my sweet friend who passed suddenly 3 months ago, and my little angel baby who passed on one month ago. I just cried and cried watching this and needed this so much. Just to see everything I felt translated to screen. Made me feel less alone in my loss. Thank you.
Just wow.

I knew what was coming. I think we all did.
But it was done with such class, such emotion and really paid tribute to everyone in this amazing series.
I honestly expected a happy ending but wasn't mad with the way it ended. I just can't believe it's over...hopefully a second season will come soon!!

I don't know if it's the Coronavirus or what but in the last two weeks I've witnessed two of the best finales ever on TV. Certainly Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist has been an extraordinary escape for us sheltered-at-home folk. And I've loved this show the whole season, but... wow, Zoey's Extraordinary Dad blew me out of the water. Can we agree that the last six minutes or so of the show was some of the best, most brilliant, most moving, most heartfelt television ever? Yes, truly extraordinary! The whole episode rocked. The last six minutes rocketed! Just amazing stuff.
I know all of production has been shut down, and I do feel a little cheated that there were only 12 episodes this season (but I am so grateful for those 12), but with that said, I CANNOT WAIT FOR SEASON 2! The talent here deserves the proverbial tip of the hat.
BTW, a quick shout out to the other great finale, which actually was a series finale. Homeland. Off topic for sure, but like Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, wow, one of the best series finales EVER. Another tip of the hat to their talent as well.
Hope to see you again soon Zoey.
JUST WOW

This series from amazing from the beginning I enjoyed every episode and all the song choices throughout but this episode in particular was an emotional gut punch idont know about anyone else but I was crying throughout the episode. The final moment between Zoey and her dad where you can faintly hear "True Colors" playing in the background was a very heartwarming moment. The first song he sang to her is the last one played before his inevitable death. If this show continues then they are going to have trouble stopping such an amazing and at times emotional season but I would look forward to it.

I loved this episode from the second it started, I knew it was going to be emotional, I think everyone watching from episode 1 knew where this story was going, but this was beyond touching and beautifully done. Having watched a parent lose their battle to a disease, I just want to say thank you to everyone that took part in creating this show and especially this episode. It was just pure magic... all of it. And to anyone reading this, if you haven't watched the episode yet, grab tissues, you'll need more than a handful.
Stunningly powerful

I had not been watching this show particularly, but my wife has and I saw part of the previous episode and all of this one.
Nothing on TV has affected me so strongly in all my life. My father passed away in 2008 and this episode captured the feeling of that event and the time after in an extraordinary way that made me feel like I was right there again. In a way, that sounds bad and it was actually quite hard to watch for me, but I give it ten stars as it is simply a masterpiece. I strongly suspect the episode draws from a real experience.
If you have experienced something similar and are looking for some kind of catharsis then perhaps you will appreciate this show and this episode. If you think you cannot cope with feeling such a powerful depiction of a very sad event then you have been warned. And if neither applies, you might just appreciate it for the amazing piece of TV that it is.

The final episode is amazing. He hits all the bases without being disrespectful with subject that been building up in all season.
This episode will probably make you cry (I cried like baby) and all the songs encapsulate perfectly with moment.
The cast is amazing and is shame that the series didn't got the spot light since the begging with strange marketing focus more in funny parts instead of adult matters that deals during all season.
A perfect ten

Cried most of the way through, because of the conclusion of this story but also remembering how we lost my dad. I'm sure most people watching would recognise so much of what was portrayed.Thank you to everyone behind this marvellous work of art. If this is to be the only season, so be it. It was perfect.
What a great show!

Wonderful show! I really enjoyed the arrangements of all the songs performed. Each performance gave a whole new meaning to the song. I wonder what the composers thought about the insights to their songs? This episode, as well as the others, present profound thoughts about life, such as Howie's conversation with Zoey about death.

Extraordinary episode of an extraordinary series
Seraphim9923 June 2020
Yes, we all knew what was coming and if there's a slight weakness in this otherwise stunning episode it's the fact that from the first song we can all be pretty sure what's going to happen.
But when it does it is so beautifully handled and the episode up to that point contains some wonderfully warm humour and terrific songs (I think that there are more songs in this one than any of the others by a long way) that nothing can spoil it.
The closing number is the best 5 minutes of TV I've seen in years and I can only imagine how much work it must have taken to get it so note-perfect (pun intended).
I wasn't sure about this show for the first one or two episodes, but it's gone on to be my favourite new series this year.
I can't wait to see more and I'm so delighted that it's been picked up for a second series.
An Emmy, if you please!
Love Zoey

Heartbreaking and Amazing

This is only the second episode of TV that I have ever given a 10 rating to and it deserved every star. A heart wrenching yet still uplifting experience. Lots of tears but smiles as well. What a wonderful experience this whole series has been so far. I really hope it comes back. I watch a lot of TV but this has been the top of my list this year. Kudos to all involved. You should be very, very proud of yourselves.
