The attention is held strongly by this picture, whose sole object is thrilling action; it puts its intention over and so makes a good offering. But it is not wholly a picture of real life and reaches no high plane. We may add that it is the most convincing picture dealing with loss of memory due to a blow on the head and final recovery years later that we remember seeing. Its worst weakness is a slight obscurity which a subtitle would have corrected. - The Moving Picture World, November 1, 1913
