Thought Provoking Warning: Spoilers
The human condition portrayed in stark silent black and white, as the lifecycle in its three most basic components. Life, Pleasure, Death. It matters not how one arranges or embellishes the parts of the inevitable cycle, they remain true, and predictable with certainty, as they always have, known to be true in time memorial.

Lanthimos choses the traditional bucolic setting of a Greek island with the goats trying to make sense of the "strange" human behaviour around their rather simple, comparatively, daily existence. The animals are just passive participants in something totally incomprehensible to them.

The short silent movie was accompanied by live orchestral music by Johann Sebastian Bach / Knut Nystedt and Toshio Hosokawa, creating a unique experience for the spectator, at the Greek National Opera House in Athens, Greece, where the movie was screened.
