This short movie made me feel so depressed, thinking about the fate of girls in so many countries. The movie is about an innocent girl who reluctantly agreed to help out at a party, to please her uncle who gave her a pair of golden high heels for her own birthday. At this party, it dawned on her, that she is not there for helping out as a waitress, but for having sex. An older girl helped her to escape - for now, but Lola's innocence is broken. It is heartbreaking to see her crying, crying about her fate, knowing, that there is no real escape, that she will be forced to do it eventually, that she is living in a man's world, full of abuse and violence, where girls and women have no right to live their own lives, making their own decisions. Back home, Lola starts packing her bag to flee, but then she saw her little sister, dancing with her uncle who had betrayed her and will betray her sister. She runs outside to snatch her sister away and started dancing with her instead. I felt for these girls, for their hopeless situation and I cursed the patriarchy and the implicitness of these men, to take it for granted that girls and women will have to obey them, will pretty much be their slaves - because what else are you, when you are denied to live your own life?
