A must watch emotional-ride for everyone irrespective of age
thottempudikiranprasad28 March 2023
Right from the start off the director's choice of outdated narration and dragged screenplay were slowly overlooked by the emotional connect that he's presented and character progression we come across throughout the movie.

One of the best emotional family drama, the movie runs on the lead actor's perspective with underlying concept of Indian theatres.

The occurrence of events in the storyline are quite realistic and relatable!!

The entire lead cast has showcased us the brilliance of the performance!!

As the new conflict points arise during the narration still the main motive always remained same which makes it a bit predictable... yet a good way of storytelling.

Best Family Emotions
vamsiannem15 April 2023
One of the best family emotional drama on screen, in the recent days.

Prakash raj, as usual he is the best. He lived in that character of Raghava rao. His wife played by Ramya Krishna.. she has become a lot matured and too good.

Brahmanandam, a friend of Raghava.. my god he did a fantastic job. I have never seen him play such a versatile character apart from just being a comedian.

The story is all about a retired stage artist who has to face his next generation kids and not able to live with the their ideology revolving around money 💰, even at the cost of fighting with their parents 😞

There are moments where you will end up with tears in your eyes!!

Also some places, where it feels like the movie is going slow !!

Overall, i liked it. It's a good message to all the youngsters to take care of their parents.

Bathuke Oka Jaganatakam
IdlyViswanath9 April 2023
Krishna Vamsi is back with an emotional drama that shows the sorrow and plight of a retired stage actor. The plot line is not the most unique, the movie is a remake of a Marathi film called Natsamrat (which I haven't seen), as it is telling a story of an older couple whose children are mistreating them. We have seen stories like this but the movie still has the emotions on point and elicits strong drama.

The first 15 or so minutes I felt like I was watching a 2000 or 90s flick, but I'm a sucker for that generation of films so slowly warmed up to it. Some of the actors like Anasuya really got on my nerves and I guess for the characterization it worked out that way. The editing of the trailer was choppy which made me lose hope on the movie, but that wasn't a big issue in the movie especially once you get invested in the drama.

The performances are the main highlight of the film. Prakash Raj lived in the role as Rangamarthanda Raghava Rao, it was not a new character for Prakash Raj but he makes you cry like a baby with ease. Bramhanandam is the man who you look at and immediately laugh, but in this movie man did he make us cry. That hospital scene and monologue was some of the best acting I have seen in a long time. I am glad Krishna Vamsi brought this angle out of him, and hope more directors use this side. Ramya Krishna is another actor who did just fabulously, she was so relatable as a soft mother and just lived in that role. Sivathmika Rajasekhar is a good actor and glad she did well in this film as well, though she needs to improve in emotional scenes. Good to see native Telugu actors acting in Telugu films.

The moral of the film is not on the nose and is just left for interpretation though it is guided by the narrative. We are shown to not mistreat elders and parents especially, and to show gratitude towards them. And from the side of Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishna's side it is shown to not fully trust anyone, it is shown that money can make anyone evil. And above all it is to learn from Prakash Raj to not lose yourself and realize that life is the biggest and grandest play of all. Some of the scenes in the films convey these beautifully without being on the nose or preachy like many films these days.

Krishna Vamsy is back after a long time and you can tell it's a Krishna Vamsi mark film and I am glad he has made a comeback after a string of hard to watch movies with extremely over the top acting.

Overall a good watch if you are interested in emotional dramas and want to see some present stalwart acting performances.

As we all know Prakash sir is the greatest artist..he will definitely exceed your ecpectation. The movie narrates the life of an artist , telugu culture and especially the pain of a father and mother. Inspite of all the odd situations they face they stay together..they respect each other..that is beautifully narrated by Krishna vamsi sir. The bond between Prakash raj and Bramhanandam is the other highlight of the movie...hospital scene will definitely make you cry. Take a bow ramya mam prakash sir bramhanandam sir for your acting skills. I would like to see bramhanandam garu more like this.

Must watch family movie.

Epic
rafathhajira5 May 2023
Filled with a lot of emotions. Liked how they kept the movie real, not some fancy ending. A harsh truth faced by many families these days, which we all stray away from.

No matter how educated, advanced or rich you become, it doesn't matter if you don't have your parents or well wishers around you. How you disrespect or disown your parents today, your children would do the same with in your future. They are quick learners, aren't they? Don't know come most of the people miss this basic simple point.

Anyhow, loved Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam & Ramya Krishnan in this movie. They acting never fails us and the story just fits in with their characters.

One of the movie with soul in it.
addalakiran15 April 2023
Many movies are coming in these days which are portraying artificial, imaginary world to us & we are getting mesmerized by those visuals & Grandeurness but this movie is another side of the coin, no action, no VFX, no graphics, no glamour, no nothing except the soul of experiences & emotions of people we see & we feel in our daily life.

Starts with a slow pace but engages you with the story.

Great acting by every artist.

Whether this movie will get acceptance or not by the masses but will move people with soft hearts.

Brahmanandam's acting was on the next level & top-notch performance compared to his previous comedy roles.

Those lengthy dialogues by both Prakash Raj & Brahmanandam will remember old Telugu movies.

But definitely must applaud both for delivering those dialogues.

What a dialogue delivery by both!

Particularly Shakespeare's dialogue by Prakash Raj is top-notch, he spelled & pronounced every word of Shakespeare with the emotion required Ramya Krishna's facial expressions & her acting were great Every actor was up to the mark.

Dialogues at a few places were too good.

A must-give try movie.

A beautiful movies with poetic storytelling and powerpacked performances
kcsridhar15 April 2023
Prakash Raj and Brahmanandam magnum opus. I had never this duo together except in comedic roles. But this heart wrenching story brings out the best in both of them. The dialogue between them re-enacting the dialogue between Dhuryodhana and Karna, during the last moments of Karna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra is so complex and yet so subtle, Words fall short to describe their incredible chemistry and performance.

The story items if a poetic ironical events that play out in the life of Prakash Raj's character, Ranga Marthanda. The story depicts the different characters that perform their play in the stage of life.

Must watch family movie.

You are born alone and die alone, everything else in-between is just an epic play.
chand-suhas8 April 2023
I haven't seen Natasamrat and this remake showcases the acting prowess of legends Prakash Raj and Brahmanandam considering is is their scenes that leave a lasting impact. The film focuses on a legendary theatre actor Raghava Rao (Prakash Raj), who is bestowed the title of Rangamarthanda. He announces his retirement from him acting, distributes his wealth among his children and decides to be the best husband he can to his wife for the remaining days. But money changes people and his own loved ones push him out of the house. His inner struggle while coping up with his roles being cut off abruptly in real life, forms rest of the story.

Rangamarthanda's family conflict seems age old and so is the drama surrounding it. Be it the way, their daughter in law uses her daughter to convey she doesn't want the in-laws living with her or how the free spirited daughter starts ill treating her parents, reminded me of those late 80s, 90s films. But what stood out is how Prakash Raj's Raghava Rao deals with these scenario. There are couple of scenes specifically written to showcase Prakash Raj and Brahmanandam's range as actors and they both excel. Ramya Krishnan's role could've been etched better than just a loyal wife.

Overall, despite the slow dated narrative, this is worth watching for the two legendary actors' standout performances.

My view on movie
dhanalethchimy1 May 2023
It was a good movie. Filled with emotions. Feelings and sacrifices of parents and their point of views that childrens missed to see when they are getting aged. No doubt that Prakash Raj sir and Ramya mam fits and played their role so so good. Bramanandam sir wow great to see a different character and he nailed it too. Amazed by all their acts.

Amazing act especially them and of course the rest of the cast played very well.

It might have seems slow but i did not felt bored anywhere. Most of the scenes were needed to justify the movie as a whole.

Thanks to director for the great movie.

Deserve an award for their acting.

Rangamarthanda Brahmanandam
flywithmeraman9 April 2023
Emperor of The stage play. The flow of serious emotions by the stalwarts of tollywood is the primary role in the movie. A star Director like Krishna Vamsi when handling a strong emotional project, sprouts a lot of expectations from the audience, above all after this dry run of his career.

What the Director want to prove or show in the movie isn't actually conveyed. The presence of atleast two or more greats on screen always asks for some flavour of any essence. And here it is what exactly makes it bland.

Only point clearly shown and felt was the importance of Telugu and just that isn't enough for a two hour transit.

The point to be definitely highlighted is the Brahmanandam's emotional binding and it tied us to the seat for his full munites on screen and wetting of our eyes is inevitable. I'd watch again only and only beacuse of Bhramanandam. Rest is just sufficient once for the cast and director's charm.

Self pity and Gaslighting
varunpalreddy43817 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The story doesn't make any sense. Ranga Rao's character seems like a toxic narcissistic parent , yet we are supposed to sit through his delusional distortion of events where he sees himself as a victim.

The whole movie revolves around guilt tripping characters around and the viewer to feel sorry for the main character and are gas lighted from reality.

The movie pretends to be some sort of great wisdom from the life of a misfortuned great artist , but in reality it's just an epitome of his childishness. Ranga Rao had no right to not let his children see their mom one last time after her death.

Life is a sad play to be live happily
kotidamodala11 April 2023
It is about the fake life we are acting outside world, for the money, name, fame etc. This plot point executed by director krishna vamsi sir well by taking the life of a stage play actor and he narrated in such a way that every one acting outside world rather than living life. Actor prakaash raj sir as raghavarao and brahmanandam sir as chakri did a wonderful job. They did a wonderful acting in hospital scene as every body knows. Rangamarthanda movie shows how parents become victims for the fake society expectations and their children's actions. The raghavarao(main character) died after his friend (chakri) and wife death with some regret that " I played drama characters well but not the real life character ". So Iam concluding my review with the dialogue used in the movie that is" Life is a sad play to be live happily "

The Best Movie Missed to watch in theaters
tarachand-sp8 April 2023
I haven't thought the movie will be this much awesome. In modern days also the characterisation and story are not matching to any movie that I have seen in the past. The story fulfills the old school people were facing the troubles, the understanding between the friendship and the gap between parents and children's in today's society 😕. Fortunately I have searching for this movie in theaters but haven't got luck after watching it in Amazon prime. Even words can't fulfill the movie expression the story elobaration and the acting levels of the characters are ultimate. After Watching this I'm definitely looking forward to take care of the gap that shouldn't grow between the child's, adults and old schools. WONDERFUL MOVIE.

A movie can be shot with just the facial expressions of a few Eminent Actors
sathish-3847810 April 2023
Movies are varied types and those directed by Krishna Vamsi sir comes with a peculiar label. A perfect blend of story and the expressions of the artists. His trademark stories just go in a subtle path pulling not just the eyes of audience but also their hearts/souls.

This movie RANGAMARTHANDA, is an epic in his career which pushed the limits of the artists portraying the very basic emotions of every human life (Parents, Children and Friendship). Tears wont flow from your eyes but the very heart itself and those characters can haunt the audience for days.

Prakash Raj sir, as usual raised his bars for the upcoming generations. Brahmanandam sir took daring step accepting this character from his regular career. His expressions and acting etches his soul on our hearts. What an ACTOR..!! Ramyakrishna the RAJAMATHA gave full justification to her role and she made a perfect combination for the level of Prakash Raj sir acting. These three fought with each other on the screen showcasing their highly rated unmatched skills.

Its a story for everyone, because the whole world just runs on money and the movie hit that point without any arrow. But the impact was enormous.

Must watch
arunreddy-116321 January 2024
Definitely one of the best emotional movies I have watched in recent times. Brahmanadam and Prakash Raj sir had portrayed their character really well and story is related to our real life. I have never seen Brahmanadam in such best emotional role, his acting is peaks and he deserves an award. All other actors did their job. I watched with my mother she doesn't watch movies much but she liked this alot cause it is closer to reality. I want to see Brahmanadam acts in such movies instead as a comedian. It's a must watch family film. Please don't miss it.

Note: I have never wrote any reviews before but after watching it I decided to write some review. Hope it is helpful. Thanks.

It's not a move, it's a an act. A beautifully presented act. A must watch for today's generation. The story is so wonderfully driven and acting... where do I start? You might have seen Prakash raj in many movies in many characters but this and this alone is totally different. He put his mind and soul to this Rangamarthanda character in this movie. He would definitely win national award for this. Your perspective towards Bramhanandam changes after this movie. The way he acted was just phenomenal. Younger actors should learn a lot from these legendary actors. The death bed scene made cry everyone in the theatres. No word about Ramya Krishna, she acted with just eyes. She barely got any dialogs however she nailed every scene. Overall, it's a fully packed with performances. Finally, the story is on another level. It is simple yet moving story. Every father, wife, children, friend can imagine themselves in the characters and feel the vibe. I loved the movie and I would recommend everyone to watch it with your family.
