Headin' Back Up
ashdoeb7 March 2020
Just when you thought the Bloods was headin' out to six star pasture, they come up with an episode like this. The murders, DA work and Internal Affairs trouble were same as ever, but it was the camaraderie, not only with Frank telling stories better than ever at the dinner table, but the whole family showing up in defense of an old neighborhood friend, at the end of the show. Really sparks of the good, green, Irish friendship and feeling of family. Hearty. Finally an episode which takes advantage of the great cast of characters.

why the perp gets to visit
MiketheWhistle7 March 2020
Should have been asked on the front page, but to clarify why the perp gets to visit is stated because it will help prepare his defense. The defense gets the same op to investigate a crime as does the prosecution generally but it's not unfettered. For example, with Epstein's suicide the family hired their own coroner to watch the autopsy. In the case on the show and with some points that are spoilers that I won't state, the DA could make a motion to the court that due to the particulars that the actual defendant not be allowed to do the visit but whether he's representing himself or has an attorney is never mentioned. In the real world, it would be unlikely he'd be allowed to visit, and he'd never be allowed to visit without the police and likely the prosecutor being there as well.

As for the rest of the show, it was nice seeing Mr. Asner or as I remember him Mr. Grant. I've missed a bunch of ep's so I don't know how Jamie become a Sgt but he's pretty young I would think to be a Sgt without influence. It's also unlikely that his father wouldn't be aware of what happened but there's never a cross over between them of the story.

Oh, and the whole thing with Ms. Reagan isn't realistic either. ANY prosecutor put in the position she was would take the info to the FBI immediately. The FBI has a section just for public corruption just for cases like shown.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm not from New York, and don't understand this law everyone refers to about the perp, Ryan Heide, who invaded and robbed Mr. K's place and roughed him up ... and now after he's been charged, he gets to visit the place he burglarized? I don't get it, if someone could please clarify?

Potential jackpot for Jamie
bkoganbing7 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This Blue Blood story has as its lead story a perpetrator stealing a bullet proof vest belonging to Sergeant Jsamie Reagan. Will Estes is facing one nasty jackpot if the theft isn't accounted for.

Donnie Wahlberg and Marisa Ramirez catch a case where a hotel chambermaid is found hanging from a balcony. Forensics shows it's murder rather thanZ suicide. Another murder happens before the perpetrator is found and identified out of a hotel filled with potential suspects.

Bridget Moynahan and Steven Schrripa get a hold of some evidence from a mob guy who has a case at the Manhattan DA''s office that I think we'll be seeing more of in future episodes.

Ed Asner guest stars and plays a man who was a theater owner back in the day and is an old friend of the Reagan family. Now he's being terrorized by a neighborhood punk. Does Tom Selleck use some extralegal means to help this old friend of the family out.

The Will Estes portion of the story and the Ed Asner segments are clearly the best here.

The good guy ACCUSED, again????
trajanrome8 March 2020
It's only one of a set of disconnected stories, but what moron teaches journeyman writers to have the good guy accused non obviously planntef evidence? STUPID. Fast- forward through these bits. And fire the writers.

the writers were asleep
sandcrab2779 April 2020
Besides the obvious of 2 over the hill actors ( asner and selleck ) trying to impress us with how good they once were, there was 3 other stories ... one involving jamie being investigaed by iad, erin trying to find corruption in the da's office, and there is danny and maria chasing a murderer in a hotel full of guests that won't divulge pertinent information ...

Love Blue Bloods but this is just silly!
mckennaste3 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely love Blue Bloods and the most of this season has been great procedural police stuff. However, a major part of this episode was an embarrassing and predictable mess!

Are we meant to believe IAB are seriously taking the stance of interrogating Jamie, a Sargent in the NYPD in front of the whole precinct? Are we meant to believe they are going to throw spurious accusations, at least liable accusations, in plain sight of the whole troop of officers, detectives and 'perps'.

Blue Bloods is a great procedural cop show. One of the best (although nowhere near Southland)! So why force a storyline with such stupidness?
