A wonderful depiction of the universality of wedding day business with a profound undertone of cultural difference. The subtle tensions between our protagonist and the wedding party she is hired to work for finally bubble to the surface in the end causing an explosive rift finale. A great story with quality cinematography, editing, sound, and acting.

Genuine and seamless storytelling
soska-0357825 June 2021
Taking you on a journey to the outskirts of Giza and into the women's world, pre-wedding traditions and popular myths about love and sexuality all while weaving in seamlessly power dynamics in the family across gender and generations, views of race and blackness in Egypt and most importantly a snapshot of the life of refugee woman. Beautifully shot and fully captures ones attention; the end is heart-breaking, but also equally empowering.
Intriguing story that has its intense moments

A story about a coincidental incident which brings the main character into a situation out of her control. Powerful performances from all the actors. The story buildup makes the film intense and engaging. The production value is of top quality as well.
