Obvious flaw - revealing the hoax

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed the show all six episodes. Unfortunately- when they have a witness draw symbols they saw - and an expert turn up and say - these are in a ancient roman script etc. It is then obvious that both the witness and the expert are hoaxes. And the entire show is a beautiful hoax.

Unfinished?

Roswell is always a tricky one, being that it has become the poster child for ufology and has been scrutinised, researched, dissected, investigated and written about more than any other incident. But it has also been ridiculed more than most, hijacked by opportunists (The infamous alien autopsy video to name but one), and because of this disregarded by a lot of the general public. Almost all of the shows I have seen about the topic cover the same old ground, we've all seen the weather balloon reveal, and third hand reports etc. But this one seems to be breaking new ground, not just paying lip service by regurgitating previously recorded interviews and evidence. Yes, of course there is an element of this, the case is almost 80 years old. But Former CIA Operative Ben Smith seems to have a real passion about the case, and goes the extra mile to try and uncover new evidence. Using new technology, and interviewing the descendents of Jesse Marcel, the first military responder, he uncovers previously undiscovered evidence. My one critisism would be that it felt unfinished, and there were things left out. But that's conspiracy theorys for you.

More Research

I liked that Ben Smith dove deep interviewing so many relatives and using so many experts... But I kept feeling that some important things were left out. I would have liked to have seen research into Jim Marrs' Alien Agenda which was greatly researched and referenced and would have perhaps provided many more leads. I would also like to know more about the 1949 Roswell crash which produced a surviver that lived until 1952. On a further tangent, I wonder if Ben Smith is aware of the intended 10 year exchange with 14 American astronauts who traveled to Serpo. In fact they lost track of time and didn't return for 14 years... and only 10 of them came back, as 2 were deceased and 2 elected to stay.

Good production, boring content

Ben Smith is a smart fellow but instead of plugging away at a snails pace over a journal that mentions NOTHING about the actual incident, he really should do more relative investigations into things like: The 200 pages of Marcel Sr. Military records which reveal he was not truthful at all about many of his statements. He should explore the proven fake Shulgen Memo that took a forensic expert to determine it's real origins. Or perhaps Mr. Smith is not aware that every single character, four all together, featured on NBC's Unsolved Mysteries beginning in 1989 turned out to be flat-out liars. And the only way Stanton Friedman's wild theory would work is that if there was a "second" crash site. Mr. Smith has bought into Marcel's story. In reality, Roswell is the Great American Hoax.
