Warning: Spoilers
Episode 4: Writing a good episode is a hard task without it seeming idiotic, unrealistic and illogical. That's what we are seeing since the beginning of this season and so far the only good are Esperanza, Brayden, the VFX and bright score.

The rest are corn flakes of various kinds and flavors badly mixed together sprinkled with water.

Requires Suspension of Rational Thought

We've been very much looking forward to watching season two with our kid the same age as Dion. However the absolutely insultingly lazy writing has been a huge turn off for us this season.

We're led to believe that BIONA, a multi billion dollar company that's capable of covertly tracking and monitoring people and weather all over the world, for some reason decides that a mysterious 30' deep hole immediately next to a school full of curious children doesn't warrant anything but a low, incomplete, partial, portable fence and NO security, NO cameras, NO monitoring equipment of any kind. Not even a real ladder to get to the bottom for all of their researchers, just some collapsable temporary portable thing that's frequently removed as plot indicates.

Even when a few guards ARE there (ONCE!) to guard someone believed to be dangerous, as soon as something starts to happen, they immediately and without explanation suddenly completely disappear, never to be seen again, but not due to some super power.

This convenient plot hole allows all manner of easily predictable drama to happen. The same plot lines could have been achieved by the use of one of the character's powers ("Guards, go to sleep," Zap! Locked gate pops open, etc), but no. Just stupidity.

Mom is now being portrayed as angry, irrational Black woman who takes it all out on her undeserving son because she refuses to be honest with him. Lying to her kid comes back to bite her repeatedly, seemingly without her able to learn her lesson.

We REALLY hope this show can redeem these characters before the end. There are so few POC in the comic/super hero genre, and Netflix owes it to them to do better.

One BIG star just for Esperanza, as she is fantastic and a bright beacon of hope for this show.
