- TriviaNone of the first five episodes of this series made the Top 20 Chart in the ratings. (The ratings for Episode #1.6 (1978) are unavailable.)
It should be noted that this was a very competitive time for television, with over 14 million viewers - sometimes over 15 million - needed to break the Top 20. Despite this, the show was in the same timeslot as Mike Yarwood in Persons (1976), with both series being shown on alternating weeks - and Mike Yarwood was regularly getting over 16 million viewers.
In his first autobiography, 1986's "A Clown Too Many", Les recalled:
"I was in danger of over exposure. I was on the box more than the test card, and the national press were quick to point this out. When the first show with Lulu and me went out on Saturdays at the peak period, they panned it, and the public switched off en masse. The series was a flop.
[...] Our show alternated every other Saturday with Mike Yarwood's show ... his ratings were very high in the charts, mine, non existent."
