Gully Boy was great film but 13 Awards are over appreciated.
Yash201817 March 2020
Gully Boy was expected to get most awards but 13 Awards are over appreciated. The film undoubtedly deserved Best Film and Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design even Best Actor. Ranveer Singh's performance received critical acclaim even he nominated for Critics Choice award. While Kabir Singh was remake and Super 30 was only loved by audience, it received mixed reviews from critics. But speaking about Best Actress, I don't think Alia deserved it. She did great job but it was not Best Actress worthy.

Speaking about other awards Vishal Jethwa and Siddhant should have won Best Debut Actor jointly while Geetika Vidya ohlyan should have won Best Actress for Soni but she was not even nominated. Best Lyrics should went Teri Mitti and Ranvir Shorey or Gulshan Devaiah should have won Best Supporting Actor.

WORST FILMFARE EVER!
Tira-Yashi15 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I agree that award shows in India are just for TRP sake and not for genuine award shows unlike Oscars, but at least now they should just grow up? Instead their standards degraded even more. But in previous few years I felt the award shows were steadily improving in their standards by giving awards to the deserved ones and I expected this year to be the best, instead this has been worst year for filmfare or any God damn awards shows ever presented!

Over the years movies like DDLJ Devdas Black are the only ones which have won most filmfare awards in Bollywood but all of them were at least iconic or regarded as masterpieces! What the hell is Gully Boy in front of these movies that it left all these behind and won some 13 awards, like seseriously? In almost each and every award category there were more deserving candidates then anyone from Gully Boy but they wanted to prove that sending Gully Boy to oscar was no mistake! Except for Best supporting actor, Best Music album(tied with Kabir Singh) and Best Director I don't think Gully Boy deserved any other award!

Ranveer Singh won for best actor? No doubt he was decent in his performance but this year there were so many better performers like Ayushmann for Bala, Hrithik for Super 30, Akshay for Kesari, Nawazuddin for Thackeray, Vicky for Uri and above all the most deserving performer SHAHID for Kabir Singh! People may hate the film for it's own 'misogynistic dumb reason' but can't deny how he exploded completely onscreen! Most of them believed either Shahid or Hrithik were gonna win instead it was who? Some random dude Ranveer Singh? Now to best actress Alia Bhatt, was she even important in the film that she won for best actress? Heck she was actually a supporting actress in the film with 25 minute appearance in which only 2 scenes where she stood out and for that best actress? Kangana, Kareena, Tapsee, Radhika Madan, Bhumi, Priyanka, Rani and Vidya were invisible right? The screentime isn't the issue as even Anthony Hopkins won oscar for a 25 minute role but in that film every shot of his shouted for Oscar here Alia wasn't even that convincing enough!

Best film again Gully Boy and not Uri, Sonchiriya, Bala, Super 30, Chhichore, Kesari or Good Newwz even though all these movies were much better than Gully Boy, again is it for proving oscar material? Best Screenplay again Gully Boy and not best Section 375 or Saand ki Aankh? Best dialogue Gully Boy and Chhichore equally deserved so I won't complain much here. Best cinematography again Gully Boy and not Sonchirya or Laal Kaptaan even though they were much better! And Best Production Design again not Kesari not Uri not Laal Kaptaan not Sonchirya but AGAIN THAT GULLY BOY! But worst amongst all was Lyrics! Even I'm a fan of Divine and loved the song Apna Time Aayega for it's beat and lyrics, but even though the beat was better, I felt the lyrics award should've been given to Teri Mitti, that was the most deserving lyrics which will be haunting you for years.

And here comes another joke, Ananya Pandey winning best debut female even though her acting was PATHETIC in all the films she appeared last year! Anyone except Ananya deserved the award this year but our jury don't know who chooses the jury they're deciding who's more popular deserves the award. And coming to other awards, War had pathetic VFX but won the award in that space, got nominated for Best film and best director even though it wasn't even in top 10 league of best films of 2019 and earned money only because of Hrithik Tiger hype. And what the hell is with this 'critics award?' Have you seen oscar introducing critics award and audience awards? The jury just needs to omit this critics and give awards even to those who aren't 'popular' but present the awards or nominate them to 'MAKE THEM POPULAR.' Felt bad for movies like Sonchirya and Kabir Singh who got either zero or negative publicity all over due to this propaganda craps! And this year without SRK you think the award show would be even entertaining? Nah, I'd rather watch oscar shows and feel proud for a non Hollywood film winning Oscars while or South movies making PAN India films while Bollywood busy in their fairytale world leaving the deserving in dark side!
