Same old stories...
jakebrann24 June 2020
If you're here in 2020 watching this and hoping to see new video, stories, photos... you're out of luck. It's just the same ol repeated info you've already seen and heard 10 times now if you watch any UFO documentary.

It's well done, just nothing new... I couldn't finish the season.

It's All Been Said Before
mariuchka27 June 2020
Same ole same ole.with different people re-presenting old old information, reinforcing disinformation. It's always fascinating revisiting the old speculations, but so much more has been revealed on other TV shows. The narrator sounds so sing song like a robot. This is UFO 101 for those just looking into the subject. Unidentified Aerial Phenomena - it's interesting in parts and the scenery is pretty, but a bit disappointing as it's just same old material being reinvented supposedly.. At this point in time, I'm starting to believe we are being played with by powers that be. :)

A boring show with an identity crisis
Sean_Biggins27 October 2021
Nowadays, good quality camera gear is so inexpensive that any tattooed hipster with a goatee can make his own show about UFO's, Sasquatches or the paranormal, but the problem is, it's all been done before, and actually done much better, and that was even way back in the 1970's. This show is pretty boring and about 90% filler. ALL the stories have been told, we ALL know about the stories these guys are rehashing. There is no need for anyone to EVER mention Roswell or Area 51 EVER again in a documentary. If a hipster dude really wants to hit the big time, then they're going to have to learn patience, which I doubt any of them have, and actually go out into the forests or deserts or wherever, with all their fancy camera gear and then hunker down for a year, DAY & NIGHT, and actually WAIT to record footage of ACTUAL ufo's, because THAT is what EVERYONE is expecting and wanting to see now, and for the first time in history, people can actually get their hands on fantastic cameras and don't have to pay ANYTHING to get film developed and all those massive expenses of yesterday year, so what are they waiting for? If you want to make a blockbuster and open the worlds eyes, then just go out there and do it! But please, no more of these kinds of lame rehashing shows. They've simply been done to death.

Shannon is a horrible reader
snibblez8 July 2020
It would be sooo less distracting if Shannon Legro would STOP reading everything she is narrating. Horrible .... she really needs to learn how to read commentary where it does not sound so dry and totally from a script...please, please never use her again...just terrible.

No new material, not particularly informative
Jim_Screechy15 July 2020
Other reviewers have commented on the narrating style of the host which is in a fairly dull monotone. This is true, and it does detract slightly from the content, but the actual tone of her voice has also been poorly adjusted so only the lower frequencies are present making her sound quite muffled.

There is little if any new content here and I find it odd that a lot of developments or claims that have surfaced are not substantiated at all. For example, in the first episode there are some experts interviewed who state that "at one time the government denied the existence of UFO's but now they accept and admit that they exist" (I'm paraphrasing) but really! I've never heard any government admission of this fact and if there is surely should be included in the program since its about UFO's and in particular, peoples attitudes to them in the current era. They mention that president Reagan and then president Clinton referenced them (whilst briefly flashing up two second video clips of them speaking - with no audio) but no quotes, statements or specific references to this claim are included at all!

There were several instances in the episodes I watched where supposed information now 'common knowledge' should be taken for granted, but with no actual detail about this information other than the program's says so. No references as to who, what or how this information is substantiated. This is ridiculous. I have no interest in hearsay, I get enough of that on social media. If your going to make a UFO program and claim the definitive on certain information, please state clearly how, who and why it has come to be known or I will find these claims unacceptable. Needless to say I stopped watching after the third episode.

It's a bit of a shame as I liked the slightly different and refreshingly objective angle this program initially seemed to be taking, but ultimately it's simply more of the same.

Based on what it actually offers, and the few but significant shortcomings, I can't recommend this program and as such give it 3 stars.

Music
gabenewyorker9 July 2020
This is an interesting documentary except for the music, which is too loud, too often, and not very good. I frequently couldn't hear the commentary because of the stupid, punctuating, 'garage band' music! The story creates the interest and then the music should be like water running through rocks - everything must work together. Adding music to create false sensationalism is mindless and, quite frankly, very boring. Sorry.

On the trail of Breedlove
kparks-4434315 June 2020
Seth Breedlove nailed it again. Great, realistic film making, the personal feeling that comes with "small" productions, and finding incredible witnesses for the subject at hand. This time? UFO's and arial phenomenon. The timing couldn't be better. If you enjoy this, go check out his other work!

Narration so bad I stopped 10 minutes in...
suprchunk23 October 2020
I could not take the robot sounding narration any longer and had to abruptly end what I was hoping would be informative. The sound of her voice cannot really be this bad. It sounds like a horrible synthesized robot voice. The cadence is weird, the adjustment they made makes it sound muffled and is very hard to hear, let alone understand. Besides robot voice (and her obvious shotgun approach to seeing what genre she can make money from), the horrible attempt at ripping of X-files was obvious, and also equally bad.

Do not recommend.

Fresh look on the UFO phenomenon
jules-pierre8 April 2024
I don't understand the low ratings some people give to this series. I'm really enjoying it, along with the latest documentaire, Dark Sky. We all know there is nothing new under the sun about UFO (even the tic-tac video is old by now!), but I like how this series takes a much more human look at some famous UFO cases, and how it approaches some lesser known cases. I also do not understand the negative comments about Shannon Legro's narration. Have any of these people watched AI-narrated videos? IF they had, they'd know what real boring narration sounds like. I think her voice and delivery is just fine. I'm looking forward to season 2.

It's Over?
brtree17 July 2021
There are now a TON of these UFO shows on streaming services, most are only one or two seasons... Why? Because there's nothing new. They all do the Roswell episode. They all do the Area 51 episode. They all go to AZ and NM and interview a bunch of trailer park crazies than couldn't tell their 12-pack from a hole in the ground. I watched it for the rare glimpses of LeGro's rear end. Not bad. But as far as a UFO documentary series? ....all been said and done before. Boring, except for the rare glimpses of LeGro's rear end.

Poor camera work in vital points and..
becausejamie14 August 2020
If your attempting to show proof or be a legitimate investigative documentary you need new material. The film is a vain attempt and doesn't provide substance to what is already well documented. It's a YouTube attempt at the subject.

Beautiful graphic art, covering almost content-less rehash without ORIGINAL footage
rossmcdee115 August 2021
What a chore to watch.

Boring narration, tedious interviews, some dire editing and naff compositional ideas (an interviewee is in one 3rd of the screen while the back of the interviewers head is in two 3rds of it! Lol).

Everything is a 're-enactment/ artist rendition... ie fake footage- usually noted as such, but sometimes not, even when it still is a re-enactment.. The film makers have talent, but so much is wasted on 'affected' techniques, which are just fashionable rubbish- ie -deliberate and poor use out of focus... wonky angles, glitchy editing...and the really annoying use of the 'scratchy film, deteriorated vhs plug-in'. Making the whole debacle almost unwatchable in places.

There is nothing but HEARSAY in this , while there IS a lot of genuine, and seemingly genuine footage, actually available none of it seems to have been used here.

What were they thinking when they made this- who did they actually make it for?

This documentary doesn't prove anything, and it may work to actually negate and belittle any genuine encounters. Someone unfamiliar with these events would probably remain even more unconvinced after watching this- was that its real aim?

All the skill in this (the artwork is beautiful and the fx are very good-for what they are) they should have just made a good fictional film incorporating all the most valid and resonant elements of the tales they've been told.

One of the most terrible
robertfriesenhahn14 September 2021
This documentary was terrible. 8 episodes of nothing but rehashed events with no new insights. Avoid this at all costs. Did I mention how poorly done it was?

Just a broken record with a horrible camera operation
brentnsocial25 August 2023
This show doesn't present anything new and what is presented is done so in such a way it is hard to watch. My biggest issues that stand out to me are the camera operation, the editing and the hair and makeup.

The camera operators are horrible at composition, maintaining a steady frame and maintaining focus on a subject. The operators at least know what end of the camera they are supposed to point at the subject. There is an operator that is notorious for zooming in on a subject until their head/face starts getting cut off. Speaking of zooming in, there are times where the operator zooms in really fast and what feels like at random.

The editing is also quite bad. There are scenes where they jump between camera angles too fast and too often. The drone footage is thrown in at random and doesn't add anything of value. The text for locations type painfully slow across the screen and a chime sound plays with every character. When introducing a person the same text typing across the screen occurs but is faster. I can't help but think of high school kids adding these text effects thinking it so cool and high-tech look but very annoying. There are also random cityscapes/landscapes that are added into the show that doesn't make any sense.

Question about Shannon
swampwitch-4025831 December 2020
Can someone explain why Shannon is never filmed speaking on camera? She does a strange voice-over, but on the show itself she never speaks...or smiles. What gives?
