The establishing shot of the small Italian hotel 'La Terrazza' is used again as a Greek hotel 'Noyoapa' at the end of the DVD version of The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones: Travels with Father (1996) (though not the TV version). The only difference being the name on the marquee and the addition of a horse and carriage in the 'Greek' segment.
Much of the incidental music in the Florence sequence consists of arrangements of passages from Puccini's operas "La bohème", "Tosca", "Madama Butterfly" and "Gianni Schicchi". The cue that plays when Anna Jones receives Puccini's gift of flowers comes from the "flower duet" in "Butterfly".
Indy asks whether Puccini will be buried in the Basilica di Santa Croce when he dies. Puccini is in fact buried at his family villa in Torre del Lago.
