- When adjusting to their new lives in Smallville, Lois and Clark make an important decision concerning one of their sons; tensions begin to rise between Lois and Morgan Edge; Lana Lang Cushing invites the Kent family over for a barbecue.
- Jonathan has his first day on the Smallville football team but discovers that the other players aren't thrilled to have him. Clark takes Jordan to the Fo\tress of Solitude to study his son's newfound powers, and Lois is on the trail about Smallville's supposed benefactor, Morgan Edge.—Gislef
- The Kent move out of their Metropolis home, and travel to the Kent farm in Smallville with their belongings. Clark down to get wrenches to repair the roof, while the rest of his family settle in. Lois and Clark fall in love all over again.
That night at dinner, Jonathan tells his family that he hasn't received his playbook yet. Clark and Lois say that they have some concerns about their going to school, and say that they moved there to be together and so Clark could teach Jordan how to use his powers. Jordan says that he doesn't know how he almost killed the kids at the party, and says that Jordan can't go to school until he can control his powers. The teenager storms off, after saying that he thought moving to Smallville would be a chance to start over. Jonathan goes out to Skype with his girlfriend Eliza.
Lois figures that Clark is distracted by the appearance of Captain Luthor, and Clark worries that Captain Luthor also knows about Lois and their sons. His wife te4lls them that they should just focus on what they came to Smallville for.
In Moldova, Captain Luthor breaks into a compound. He easily knocks out the soldiers guarding the chamber, and tells one stranger to open a vault door. Captain Luthor opens it and discovers that it's empty, and asks the soldier where the Kryponite is. He kills the soldier and then smashes the walls in frustration, and his AI warns that his suit is running low on power and so is his suit. Captain Luthor says that they have to stop Kal-El before he does to Earth what he did to Captain Luthor's world.
The next day, Jonathan prepares to go to school without Jordan. Lois leaves as well, and Clark flies Jordan up and away. Jonathan goes to his locker, and Sarah finds him and asks if he needs directions to his next class. As they go, Sarah asks about Jordan and Jonathan says that his brother is home sick. Sean confronts Jonathan in the hallway and tells Jonathan that they already have a QB. Sean's friends, including the current QB, know that Jonathan doesn't have his playbook. Sarah goes with them, telling Jonathan the way to his next class.
In the Arctic, Clark takes Jordan to the Fortress of Solitude. They go inside and Clark explains how he came there finding answers about where he came from and why he had his powers. He puts a sunstone crystal from the ship into a crystal pillar, and it projects the history of the El family and Krypton.
In Smallville, Lois goes to a diner and use the wireless to do research on Morgan. Lana and Kyle come in, and Lana invites the Kents to her house for a barbeque. Kyle notices Lis' research, and says that the fact that Morgan is helping Smallville is good enough for him. Mayor George Dean comes by and asks Kyle if he's set for tonight because it's a big night. Kyle says that he is and leaves, and Lana tells Lois that there's a city council meeting.
The recording talks about the destruction of Krypton, and how war broke out on the planet. Jordan asks how Clark knew to come there, and he says that a hologram of his father, Jor-El, brought him there. The hologram is interactive, and wonders why Jordan is there. Clark says that Jordan has started to manifest powers, and Jor-El tells Jordan that he will be the one to carry on their Kryptonian heritage.
That night, everyone returns to the farm , while Jonathan practices his football passes on a tire swing. Jordan goes over to tell Jonathan where he was, and Clark tells Lois that he finally broke through to Jordan and he'll take him back to the Fortress for tests. Lois tells Clark about the council meeting and Lana's invitation, and she's going to go to the council meeting.
Sam drives up and the couple see him. Lois takes the twins while Sam asks Clark about Captain Luthor. Sam asks Clark what Captain Luthor said, and he said that they would meet again. the Army has identified the ship's resonance, and they can track it the next time it goes airborne.
Lois takes Jonathan and Jordan to the council meeting. Sarah and Sophie are there, and Sarah wonders why Jordan was too sick to go to school but could come to the meeting. Jordan says that he was feeling better, and Jonathan tells Sarah that he has a copy of the playbook now.
Lois sees a woman at the diner, Chrissy Beppo, and sits down with her. Chrissy says that she's with the local paper and she recognized Lois. Kyle is on the board and introduces Dean, and Chrissy tells Lois that if she ever wants to write for her paper, the Gazette, Lois is welcome to do it. Dean introduces Morgan, who comes in and sits with the council.
Sam asks Clark why he brought his family there, taking Lois away from where she belongs and depriving his sons of life in Metropolis. The general works out that Clark told his sons that they're Superman, and is angry that Clark is going to put his sons through the same hell that Lois has gone through. Sam warns that it will tear his family apart. Sam gets a call about something in Mongolia, and Clark flies there.
At the meeting, Morgan talks about the jobs that he's bringing to Smallville. Lois asks Morgan about a feasible number of jobs, and says that in New Carthage Morgan missed job-projections by 50%. Morgan expresses admiration for him, and says that he promised people that he would take a chance on them when nobody else would. All of the attendees applaud, and Morgan says that he wouldn't want to harm Smallville, and he and Lois should discuss it further. The meeting adjourns, and Chrissy admires Lois for going to the news.
Captain Luthor's ship land in Mongolia and he gets out. Superman arrives and asks what he wants. Captain Luthor says that he wants Superman gone, and Superman destroyed his planet. He flies at Superman and pushes him through the forest, and Superman knocks him into the sky and flies up after him... then punches him back down to the forest.
Superman flies down and as he beats Captain Luthor, he hears something. As the ship flies off under the AI's control, Captain Luthor says that Superman the ship will have to blow up in an inhabited area... and Superman has to choose between him and them. Superman flies after the ship, catches it, and pushes it away from the city and into space. When it explodes, the blast knocks Superman down into the forest.
Jonathan is playing football, and the couch tells Jonathan to study the playbook and learn offense. The couch gives in and sends Jonathan in, and Jonathan drops the ball on a running play. He goes back for a pass, and Sean, one of the opposing players, smashes him down and tells him that they already have a QB.
At the farm, Clark tells Lois what happened and how Captain Luthor blames him for his planet's destruction. Clark says that Sam knows Clark told his secret identity, and Lois figures they're on the right track if her father doesn't approve. She goes to work on her article and tells Clark about it, and explains that he was at the meeting. Lois says that Morgan is in Smallville for cheap labor, and is "eating the small town from the inside". Clark reviews the article and says that since Lois owns the Planet, he won't publish her article. Lois tells Clark to let he handle the reporting, and she has a gut feeling that Morgan plans to financially destroy Smallville.
Jonathan tells Jordan about the playbook, and Clark comes to get Jordan for the trip to the Fortress. Lois tells Jonathan that he's a great brother and he gave up a great life to come with Jordan. Jonathan says that they both left a lot behind and goes to his room to study his playbook.
At the Fortress, Jor-El tells Clark and Jordan that the energy in Jordan is insignificant. The hologram says that the cells can only store so much solar energy, and Jordan has been unable to repeat his heat vision and only has one-hundredth of Clark's strength. Jor-El tells Clark that Jordan will never be like Clark. Clark shuts down the hologram and turns to a disappointed Jordan, who walks out.
Back at the farm Jordan tells Lois that he found out he's not special... same as usual. He doesn't want to go to the barbeque, and Jonathan joins them and says that he's tired of Jordan's crap and it's not just about him. Now Sean is angry at Jordan for kissing Sarah, and is taking it out on Jonathan. Clark offers to run plays with Jonathan, and Lois tells them both that it's not time to wallow in what has gone wrong since they moved to Smallville. She says that they accepted the invitation as a family, and they're going as a family.
The Kents arrive at the Cushing home, and they discover that the whole neighborhood is there. Jonathan and Jordan go off, and Clark and Lois agree that they'll only stay one hour.
Jonathan and Jordan find Sarah and her friends playing video games. Jonathan wonders what Sarah sees in Sean, and Jordan days that Sean should take out his issues on him because Jordan is the one who kissed Sarah.
Lois goes to the grill where Kyle is cooking, and he defends Morgan. He's happy that they're at least getting some money, and that's what Smallville needs. Lois discovers how Morgan changed her piece to be complimentary about him, goes in, and tells Clark that she can't let Morgan get away with it.
Sam is at the DoD, and Captain Luthor arrives. Clark hears the alarm and tells Lois that Sam is there, and flies off despite the fact their sons need him, after Lois nods in approval.
Captain Luthor knocks out the defending soldiers with a sonic blast from his suit, spots Sam using his suit's sensors, and goes after the general. Sam realizes the intruder knows where he is and orders everyone out of the control room. Captain Luthor knocks the power out, calls Sam by name, gives him a small device, and tells Sam that he has to help him stop Superman before he destroys Earth.
Superman flies in and attacks the intruder, flies him into the sky, and slams him back to the ground. He pulls off the suit's helmet and discovers that it's a robot, just as Sam arrive. Captain Luthor sees Sam via the cameras in the head, and mutters "To hell and back, general."
Clark flies back to the farm, sits with Lois on the porch, and says that he's getting closer to stopping Captain Luthor. Looking out, Clark talks about he talked to his parent son the porch about the problems he had. He assures Lois that they didn't make a mistake by coming there, and tells Lois that he hasn't seen the look in her eyes when she was on a story for a long time. Clark tells Lois that they have a lot of questions, and they'll find the answers together.
Jonathan finishes Skyping with Eliza, and Jordan comes into his brother's room. Jordan asks about Eliza, and then says that he never thanked Jonathan for coming there. He says that Jonathan has always been there for him, and he should be there for Jonathan. Jordan tells Jonathan that his tests proved negative, and Jonathan tells Jordan that something special happened to him and he'll help figure out what it was if no one else will.
The next day, Jonathan and Jordan come down and Clark tells them to take a seat. He apologizes for leaving the barbeque, and was wrong that his "career" as Superman would not affect them. Clark tells them that he'll try to be a better father, and gives Jordan a signal device. He says that they have to keep an eye on Jordan's powers, but he has to go to school. Clark says that they're going to school. Jonathan points out that Lois isn't there, and Clark says that she had a "thing".
Lois goes to a board meeting at the Planet, and tells Morgan that she rewrote her story. She asks if they can do any actual reporting, and gives Morgan a letter of resignation. As Lois goes, Morgan's assistant Leslie tells Lois that Morgan will crush her. She says that Morgan can try.
Sarah approaches Jordan at his locker and walks with him.
Sam sits in his office and looks at the item Captain Luthor gave to him: a dog tag with the word "Hell" on it.
Jonathan plays football after school, while Clark watches from the sidelines.
Morgan looks at Lois' resignation letter, and then shows it to Leslie. It has two words word on it: "I Quit".
Lois returns to Smallville, goes to the Gazette, and asks if anyone is there. Chrissy comes out of the bathroom and greets Lois, who gives her the original article she wrote. The younger woman admits that she's the only staff member, and Lois tells her that she's already quit the Planet.
The AI tells "Captain Luthor" that it will take time to rebuild his ship and suit,. It says that Kal-El is not like the one Luthor has encountered, and Luthor remembers being on a battlefield and a Superman killing the other soldiers with his heat vision. Sam is among them, and tells Luthor "To hell and back" before dying. He gives Luthor the dog tags, and ion the present Luthor tells his AI that Earth's Kal-El isn't like his... yet.
